My friend and I were visiting attractions in LaGrange and stopped in for dinner on a Friday evening. It’s a quaint and intimate local restaurant with large portions of classic Italian food. My cheese, spinach and garlic ravioli was delicious (though there is an abundance of whole tomatoes and chunks of onions in the marinara, which was a bit too much for me) and the white balsamic dressing was sweet and unique with the house salad. My friend had high praise for the lasagna (another generous portion). There’s a surcharge if you pay with a credit card and discount if you pay with cash, just FYI. Highly recommend!

Pizza Villa Lagrange Georgia

I thought I’d check out The Pizza Villa (pronounced vee-ah) again, originally described by me as being ‘so dark the menu is in braille.’ It still has the honor of being The Most Romantic Restaurant in LaGrange, GA. Without a doubt, it has the most loyal diners, who have been going there since childhood. I like it too.I stopped this time for dinner. As usual, the place was packed. The bill of fare had only a few changes. Helen Keller Menu Night is now Tuesdays, and Ray Charles’ Night is now on Thursdays. The place is just as dark as when I reviewed it a couple years ago. How dark is it? First off an usherette, not a hostess, escorts you with a flashlight to your table. There are no windows. Sitting in the dark reminded me of watching 16mm home movies with the family in our basement. It’s so dark your voice echoes. The waiters look like the Morlocks in "The Time Machine".This place gives a whole new meaning to “mystery meat.” In here you trade your sense of sight for ESP.An elderly couple sat in front of me. She was wearing sunglasses and had a cane, he was wearing a carbide light and carrying a canary in a cage. They asked for the “Coal Miner Special.” This place is dark. One odd looking man came in wearing a long nightshirt and carrying a candle lamp like Nicodemus looking for an honest man. A family of four looked dressed for zombie night. This is where you should go for Halloween.Coming here for a business meeting? You’ll have to wait until you’re outside to read the vender’s business card. It’s that dark.Pizza Villa (pronounced vee-ah) is one restaurant that will always be darker than it is outside, even during a full moon eclipse. You can’t hail your servers by hand, you have to text them. The only way you tell your cola from your water glass is to lower your head and listen closely for the fizz. Trust me, it’s dark. But the owners will tell you their raving fans like it that way, and dark makes it romantic. That did nothing for me, because I was dining solo. If you’re single, this is hands down the worst place to meet someone. You need to get within 12 inches of a person’s face just to see them clearly, and then at the risk of spooking them. If they had a lounge they’d have to convert each bar stool to seat two people. On the other hand this is a great place for a first date ‘cause you don’t have to worry about making a bad first impression. No one can see you. Walking to the rest room I bumped twice into the lady in front of me. She probably thought I was a transgender in a hurry or a stalker. Folks, let me tell you, this place is really dark. It’s so dark that you have to crawl in and out on your hands and knees as it’s unsafe to walk upright. I wouldn’t be surprised if the number one work injury for staff is tripping over bodies in the entry way.Seriously, this is a great place to eat, and the dark atmosphere, a single candle on each table, shouldn’t discourage you from eating here. In fact, subdued illumination might even be better for our health. Honestly, a very expensive 2012 study, (probably funded with taxpayer money), by Cornell University found that people took in 18 percent fewer calories with the lights down low. I could have told them that, and saved them money. I mean why would you put something in your mouth that you can’t see?If you’ve never been to Pizza Villa (did I say it’s pronounced vee-ah?) you’re missing some pretty good food. The menu is very popular with the young and old alike and hasn’t changed much since the place opened. The pizzas are the very best in town, and yes, it’s dark and, in its own special way, romantic. Load the flashlight app on your phone before going there. Bon appetit!

Was hesitant to try this place because it didn’t have any reviews - glad we did. It’s a build your own pizza place. Very good. My husband and I each had a 10 inch pizza, side salad and drink for $27. A little pricey but good.

I ordered carry out. It was good and correct. Normally, this wouldn't warrant a review, however LaGrange doesn't have many pizza places that are capable of achieving those two at the same time. Congrats papa.
