There are so many good restaurants in the village that we were doing a different one each evening, but we liked this one so much (and it had such a good choice on the menu) that we did this one twice. We had a bottle of the local Fumin wine for 18 Euros which was very good. For first plate, I had the penne salmon and my husband had the oven-baked gnocchi with masses of cheese, which was fantastic. These were quite big enough to make a meal in themselves, but we had already both ordered the trout second plate, with a portion of spinach to share, so we had to leave some to keep room for the trout. The trout was absolutely delicious, and a good sized portion. We just didn't have any room for the spinach! The second night, we didn't have any starters or first plates, and went for the mixed grill for two to share which was very good, and that (just about) left room for dessert, which we were pleased about as the desserts looked great but there was no way we could try them the first time. We had the tirammissu and the lemon cake, both lovely, and the local Fumin wine again. I think it was a father and son team running it, they were both really nice and very helpful in explaining / recommending dishes. It was also more reasonably priced than most restaurants in the village, our first meal was just under 60 Euros for us both and the second was just under 70. Would definitely recommend it - just be careful not to order too much!

We had a nice dinner at La Maison de Laurent. The seafood risotto was a bit unusual and perhaps not a traditional risotto but it was good nonetheless. The ravioli with nut sauce was delicious. The quattro stagione pizza was excellent, the veggie pizza marginally less so and did not look as good so they could work a bit on presentation but this is a minor detail. We had 0.5 ltr of house wine for 5 EUR which was good value, pizzas cost less than 10 EUR so good value too.

We had a local dish of cheeses and meats two times and enjoyed both the dish as well as the accompanying wine by the glass. Quality is excellent, prices are OK.

Nice sky restaurant with wonderful view on la thuile. we organize dinner with snowcat. you never forget the first time!!!
We ate here one evening catching the snow track from outside out hotel up the mountain track to the hotel. We were the only party eating there that night. Because of this, we thought it would be awkward and lacking atmosphere but we were completely wrong. The waitress, Tamara, was completely charming and talked us through all the courses in great detail. There is a huge amount to eat so pace yourself if you go here.We had a table overlooking the valley on a clear night. A stunning view.Afterwards we decided not to go in the snow bus but to walk down the track. It was a full, blue super moon and what a beautiful night. Not to be forgotten.I would definitely go back and this time I would have no lunch that day in preparation.

+ points - great location and the decor inside is nice and homely. -ve points - service extremely poor on more than one occasion and prices (â¬12 for a beer) ridiculous. If you work in the HOSPITALITY industry and you don't understand what it mens to put the customer first, deliver good customer service or generally be considerate, you should not be working in the HOSPITALITY industry! Basically, all the waiting staff can't be bothered with customers in this place. You need an attitude shift big time. The restaurant la Fordze keeps its historic name but changes management in December 2014, offering a radical change of food and atmosphere. The new managers, Marco and Elena are very happy to greet you just like you are at your own home. They would like y
Three of us went specifically for pizza but were left a little disappointed. Expecting the ultra thin & crispy bases weâve had elsewhere throughout Italy, these were more akin to those that you get in the UK and were quite doughy. We shared a mixed salad which was essentially different ingredients chopped and placed in a bowl, not mixed or dressed at all. The place was full of what seemed to be local people and was reasonably priced, and the prosecco we had was light & crisp, pity the pizzas werenât! Staff though were very friendly, would go back to try other items on the menu which sounded delicious.

We went here after a recommendation from a friend and after reading reviews here on TA. The room is very nice and the ambiance conducive to producing a pleasant evening. The starters were good and large but the ribeye steak was quite disappointing. There was a lot of fat and gristle which was a surprise at a restaurant of this quality. My dining companion had the fillet in a green pepper sauce which he said wasn't too his taste. It was more creamy than peppery. When asked if everything was OK I replied it was fine, but surely fine isn't what waiting staff should want to hear..... When we mentioned we had a discount card (which we paid for from our tour company) we felt we were instantly treated like second class customers. Tables around us had been given complimentary limoncello or grappa and chocolates, and we were merely abandoned without a further interest. We did leave a tip for a meal which even with the discount was fairly expensive but we left not feeling good. Normally a discount card works to encourage people to visit not for them to be given a different standard. A bit of a shame.

The staff were very attentive and the food was nice, but overall we preferred some of the other restaurants in the village. For starter, my husband had the salmon tartare which was excellent and I had the goats cheese which was ok. For main course we both had the duck, which was very nice and came with a small portion of mashed pumpkin. (At previous places we had done a first plate of pasta followed by a second plate of main, and found it too much, which is why here we did the starter and second plate, but with the second plate here being smaller, we could easily have done the pasta first plate and second mains plate). For dessert my husband had tiramissu which was very good, and I had choc mousse which was fine. We had a local Syrah wine which was very good. It looked like they take their wine very seriously there, with a huge selection, covering a wide range of prices. Three courses each + bottle of wine came to 100 Euros total. My husband lost a glove while in the restaurant and we couldn't find it, but we popped back in the next day to ask, and they had it at the counter ready to return to us, which was nice.
