We were day 15 into a 36 day trip and we had had a lot of large meals. We were just looking for something light. This was a perfect choice. We shared the grilled octopus Catalan style, with marinated onions, tomatoes, and potatoes.Very large portion. It was the perfect starter. Then we ordered the simple ham and cheese pizza, and one with spicy Sardo sausage â think spicy pepperoni â cheese, and spicy oil.And a nice bottle of local red wine completed the mealGreat service.Terrific food.Wonderful people!

On arriving we were told there was only pizza available (perhaps because it was early), which was fine with us. There were a huge number to choose from, including with such toppings as smoked salmon, and horse meat!We all had something different and were all impressed; my Veneziana was delicious. Service was fine, if a little bored.

A tiny restaurant tucked away around the corner from the main sea front. The restaurant is virtually a whole the wall and doesn't have dramatic sea views despite being opposite a yacht marina. What Il Ghiotone does have is intimate charm, outstanding Sardinian food and great service. Decent value for money given the quality of the food.

Our philosophy is "semplicity". We want to offer you fish dishes which enhance the taste of fish served with local Mediterranean vegetables... all cooked with love. Enjoy your meal!
There with Italian friend and couldn't fault the food or the service. These guys are pretty new and really putting their heart into it all. Bit pricey but certainly not compared to average prices here and way way better food and value than the other seafood joints on the main drags. Would have happily gone back another time. Only criticism was that couldn't find online info re opening times and menu etc. but hey - they'd only been in business 5 weeks and concentrating on the important things. Had a large fritto misto and was lush and generous. Other-half had swordfish and was cooked perfectly. Bottle of wine and an extra digestivo, bread and water etc. for 65ELoved the complementary digestif. Would love it if they added house wine by the jug rather than just expensive bottles. See you next year xx

Dropped in here for a glass of wine- a short list of top quality wines all available by the glass. Then we saw some food and thought we should have plate of meats which was so good we decided to switch to red wine and have plate of cheeses! Everything about this place was fantastic: tradition food and wine delivered with some style and spark that felt entirely modern and a great soundtrack of prog rock from the 1970s!

My mom is from sardinia i have been coming to the island since i was a kid. Worst restaurant ive been to. Sliced beef with plastic salad and 2 pieces of eggplant, absolute average and expensive 18â¬. Terrible cannonau. Service was absolutely nice though, which made it a bit weird...i think he just knew he was taking the piss. Avoid ! Food in Sardegna is so much better !

Gastronomy with a wide selection of typical dishes prepared daily: meat and fish first and second courses, side dishes and desserts! Ready to take away or to be consumed here ...
One more year I am here and delighting myself with wonderful restaurant, this year I am eating the white rice salad with vegetables and of course the delicious Catalan streak. A great option to take is the sausage coves, a delight. Come to La Maddalena and not eat here is like not coming.

Selezione di piatti tipici sardi. Sapori forti e originali. Scegliamo per voi i migliori vini e prodotti fatti in casa della nostra terra, Sardegna.
Visited after reading other reviews and were delighted with the food and service.Valerio is passionate about the local food and produce and provides very nice explanations on what is what and were it comes from.Prior to visiting The Bistrot, our other culinary experiences on La Maddalena were unfortunately nothing to write home about. This place - the food made and presented with love and passion. And this defines the results.Highly recommend.

Up a side street, this restaurant looks attractive. The female waiting staff were very pleasant although the owner-manager was surly! The carpaccio of tuna arrived thickly cut; possibly this is the custom but my partner thinks not. Her pasta in pesto was acceptable but, as on several occasions, we remarked that it seems good restaurants in Britain have overtaken ones in Italy that actually created the original dishes. With my ravioli in walnut oil, I did wonder whether the walnut oil had been added... Foccaccia del formaggio was interesting because it came looking more like a pizza; that's fine. All in all, a mixed experience not aided by a noticeably long wait for our order to be taken and, then, for the courses to arrive.Grazie

Restaurant of meat and fish immersed in the Gallura countryside tasting of typical dishes and seafood specialties
Good location for exploring local beaches. Porto Pollo is truly a windsurfing Mecca!Easy short drive to Palau and the gateway to La Maddalena archipelago. Restaurant serves generous authentic fayre and will serve you something other than the set menu if requested the day before. Breakfast is typically simple. Room was clean, very small and basic but ok for our two night stay. Very hospitable host and staff.
