Best pizza restaurant in town! Can not fault the food, service or atmosphere. They have very friendly staff who try and speak English but in politeness we always speak French. We go here every time we visit our family in Chemere and we can't wait to go back this summer.

What a phantastic chef!!! He is a master of cooking - in his previous life he had been working in the haute cuisine for quite some time. I had a desert which consisted of 3 ingredients only (apple, butter& cinnamon) which might sound boring. But it was in fact an incredible experience: The apples where transformed into some higher existence, full of flavour, tender in consistency and yet still with a bite. The other dishes were in the same league. He is capable to produce vegan dishes with outstanding taste as well as fish and meat courses. I am seriously thinking of coming back to Pornic because of this restaurant. Of course the wine, the service and the interieur where also splendid. Thank you very much for the perfect dinner - we will talk about if for the rest of our life.

They take an age to produce your pizza...with the wrong toppings and refuse to change it. But three beers in and I really didn't care...scrape off the bits you don't like and enjoy the rest. Great for people watching and just soaking up the atmosphere of the wonderful town

This newly established crêperie and pizzeria has an enviable position in the middle of the village square. The unimposing entrance belies a wonderful interior which has tones of Bella Italia. The staff are friendly, offer advice on portions and accompaniments and the menu is very simple. The pizzas are huge, served piping hot and the crust is wafer thin with a great variety of toppings. We ate here at lunchtime and were unable to entertain a crêpe or any other dessert. Prepare to eat well and plentifully. The prices are the best part of the experience, as they are unbelievably cheap. Well done them.

My son and I arrived quite late (around 8:45) and foolishly (in retrospect) agreed to eat in the garden. I say "foolishly" as by now it was getting quite cold. For starters we shared a lovely bruschetta and green salad. But the mains were quite disappointing. My son had the spaghetti bolognaise whilst I went for the interestingly entitled Moules Gorgonzola (and frites). Both of these tasted quite bland. We finished with cheese for me and ice cream for my son.For drinks we had kirs to start with and two pichets of the very reasonably-priced house red. The service was very pleasant but, overall, it wasn't a very memorable meal.

L'Esperanza is a modest little restaurant-pizzeria, situated in the main street in La Bernerie en Retz, a short walk from the beach.The three course 12:50 euro lunch was really good value for money and service was good. It seemed a popular venue for locals, on this out of season occasion.Well worth a visit
