Reviews on Italian food in Kittery, Maine, United States. Sitting at the southernmost corner of Maine, Kittery is a charming small town and one of the most historic communities in the state. First settled in 1623, Kittery features some of the oldest architecture in Maine, including the John Bray House, built back in 1662. Nearby Fort McClary has been guarding the entrance to the Piscataqua River for over 275 years, having been manned through five wars. Another nearby attraction is York's Wild Kingdom, the state's largest zoo and amusement park.

We stopped in for dinner and drinks before a Prescott Park concert. I had the house margarita and the appetizer bowl of pasta with marinara sauce; he had a Manhattan and the chicken parmesan. Both meals came with fresh baked bread and dipping oil. Everything was great! The portions here are always larger than normal, with enough to take home for another meal, and prices are very reasonable for Portsmouth. We like the bar atmosphere in this historic building, with large windows overlooking State Street.

Makers of Gourmet Ravioli, Pasta and Sauces. You boil the water, we'll do the rest! Located on Route 1 locally known as Gourmet Ally!
I can only assume that the positive reviews are coming from either non Italians or employees of tbis place. As a 100% Italian and cook I can honestly say this place is not worth the trip. First of all, it is strickly a take out place. There is one old falling apart picnic bench outside but that hardly counts. Most of their "Italian" selections sre on display in their display case. There are very few items that are made to order. Overall, this is nothing more than overrated take out place. Hello Biztraveler2222, Sorry for the delay in responding to your review. We appreciate any and all feedback we receive from our customers. We always strive to use the constructive criticism we receive as a learning experience for our employees and to improve our business. You are correct we are not a sit down and dine restaurant. We have been in business since 1989 and have grown from farmers markets to our store fronts that we have today. Our motto has always been "You boil the water let Terra Cotta Pasta do the rest!" We do display many Italian items in our deli case, but that is just a small portion of what we offer. We have a full line of Fresh Pasta's, Ravioli's, Sauce's, and Lasagna's. We have a lunch menu with made to order hot subs, panini, flat breads, stromboli and Sicilian Pizza's. We also have a large Catering Menu with many offerings including an Antipasto platter, Crostini and Parmigiano meals. We also have many delicious desserts including Tiramisu, Cannoli and Sfogliatelle!! As for the seating we will look into getting new tables for those who would like to eat outside during the warmer weather. Again we appreciate your feedback and hope you will stop in again so that we can give you our Grand Tour and show you all we have to offer!

We are delighted that we stopped at Misto! for the first time today. It definitely won't be our last time. All of the food was delicious -- the vegan wrap; caprese salad; zoodles; popcorn with truffle oil; salad with steak on top. The waitstaff and chef were friendly, warm and gracious. Because we stopped in with a dog, we sat at the picnic table on the grass below the porch. Just perfect.

My boyfriend and I visited on a busy Friday night, and we were treated to a truly wonderful meal. From our starters to our mains, everything was great. Service was friendly and helpful, so no complaints there! Their scallop crudo was one of the best things I've ever ate. My boyfriend loved his spaghetti and meatballs (their red sauce is superb, and from someone who grew up on sauce heavy Italian food, I never had a red sauce taste like the one Festina Lente makes before).

This restaurant's staff worked like a well-oiled machine. We found the restaurant a little too noisy....which is unusual for us to comment on. The food was average for an Italian restaurant. We probably won't return in light of all the great restaurants in this area.

Massimoâs is at the top of our list of restaurants in Portsmouth, and thatâs saying something, given the many, many restaurants in the area.Massimo, the owner, is a gracious host and his staff is well prepared to offer assistance and advice. The menu offers an impressive range of dishes and changes regularly enough to avoid becoming stale. Every dish that we have tried over five or six visits has been exceptional.
