Mario's Flying Pizza is a long-time institution along Route 146, the bayside thoroughfare that links I-10 with the Kemah Boardwalk and the lower Galveston Bay villages like San Leon. Immanent highway construction is about the force a relocation from the current site near the intersection of 146 and Space Center Boulevard, the winding path inland from the Bay to Johnson Space Center and beyond. Mario's was a regular venue my wife and I visited as we coped for a decade or more with her Alzheimer's dementia. It's a pleasant, down-home place with tight parking, wonderful aromas, and lots of families stopping in from work, ball games, fishing expeditions and the adventures of every day. A small TV blares out ball games or game shows across the tables and booths, but conversation dominates the room. The pizzas are exceptional, and the night before my late wife's memorial service, our daughter and her three children stopped in at Mario's with me. We divided a large Mario's Special, and everyone had one shot at the salad bar. Very nice! The house special is a tasty favorite, and the pizza options should meet nearly anyone's preferences; I like anchovies, and they can be added to the part of a pizza I'll be consuming. The place has a one-visit or unlimited salad bar, good Italian desserts, a fair wine and beer selection, good spaghetti, and moderate prices. The managers and waitstaff are friendly and capable. Mario's Flying Pizza is a fine community gathering place which also offers takeout and delivery. I hope the new location (not far from the present site) will offer equal hospitality and maybe a bit more parking. Hope to see you there!

Great experience here. Fun place, cool music. Ordered the Jamaican Me Crazy and Notorious P.I.G. Slices at lunch time. Huge slice of pizza and a drink for 6 dollars, can't beat it. Pizza was fresh and delicious, staff was very friendly and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Many zany choices for pizza. Highly recommended!

First time here. Great little pizza place. Staff is helpful and cheerful. All kinds of toppings. Pick what you want all for the same price. Pizzas were very delicious. Great prices!! And outdoor seating, as well.. Clean restaurant and restrooms. That's a plus!!! We will be back for sure.

Unannounced 7 of us arrived in a party which included 2 very young children. Our welcome at the door was unrehearsed and spontaneous. Only later did we experience the wonderful view of water and homely ambience. The meal was excellent and served with enough time to suggest that excessive use of Microwave ovens was absent but time delays well within reason. The entire party left feeling very well nourished and rated the evening a most memorably pleasing experience. Should we ever be in Seabrook again we would make point of sharing an evening with our new Italian friends!
