On January 1, 2006 Kasterlee had a total population of 17,908. The total area is 71.56 km² which gives a population density of 250 inhabitants per km². The town is twinned with Plaffeien.

We were very glad we found this buzzing little Italian restaurant. Lovely amuse bouche, delicious fish, great pasta and all served by friendy attentive waiters with a smile. Real feel of Italy about the place. Could see the chef working hard in the kitchen which is always fun!

I was invited for dinner by a Dutch friend. We both did not know what to expect but soon we realised that this was a really nice price quality Italian/Belgian restaurant. Nice menu: I chose Belgian cheese croquettes which were greatly prepared (crusty and lovely melting cheese inside). The scallopini were also excellent! Nice service and very close to the E19 highway.

Quiet on a Tuesday evening, and our hostess gave us plenty of attention, suggesting dishes and describing them to help the choice process. Swordfish carpaccio, scampi and antipasto Umbro all excellent. The preferred white wine was unavailable, but the hostess suggested an alternative which was close in taste and very nice. The same thing happened with the choice of red later. For the mains, lemon veal, sea bass were very tasty. Only small comment: could do with vegetables to be added. All food was exceptional.

My wife and I come here regularly with our daughter. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. The steak is recommended as it is cooked just how you like it and is so tender.The new menu has many other delights for you to try. I would highly recommend anyone in the area to sample the delights of Sicilian cooking at La Perla. Well done to Ivan, Roberta and Ben. Finally we found a real (Sicilian) Italian restaurant that doesn't alter the dishes to suit Belgian tastes.Enthousiast chef and crew, impressive winelist, menu geared towards fish an daily specials explained in detail.They buy their tuna and pesce spada wholesome: almost better than in Italy as a matter of fact.I cannot think of a better one in a radius of 50 km!

Booked last night for my partner's birthday.Booking was made for 8pm. We ordered a bottle of wine (which was nice), cold starters and pizza's as a main course.Starter arrived at 9.15pm and was ok.At 10.30pm still no pizza... and when I asked the owner about it, the answer was that 'Belgians are always so inpatient' and that next time we should go to Mc Donald's.That's when we decided to leave and that's what we did...The table next to us, a couple with 2 small children arrived about the same time as us and when they enquired about their food after waiting very long, they were told that there are places in town where you can get served chicken nuggets within 3 minutes...? He went into a huge discussion with the mother telling her that it was very busy and that she should come in the kitchen and do it herself.The owner is extremely rude and arrogant and you will only see him smile on the photos and when he serves his own friends in the restaurant.Never seen this before and obviously we won't ever return!I would suggest him to pack his bags and open a place in Italy (maybe people have more patience there...)?Sorry if you think this about me. "rude and arrogant"....? Maybe you can ask all ours customers what they think about this... This is the first time in my career that someone write something like this about me.I hope you can give me another chance to show you who i am. I want invite you again: you and your partner are my guest! Sorry for your bad experience. Ps: i live in Belgium from 7 years. Knowing the father, doesn't mean that his daughter is automatically capable of performing the same act. But she did. Valentina is only 24 but she inherited the genes. Add to that the Italian courage and entrepreneurship, and we saw a girl with a mission. Great food at an affordable price, a lovely scenery, and staff that makes you feel special and appreciated (an unfortunately slowly fading talent). Another diamond in Antwerp's crown of cuisine!

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Livelli yesterday evening and I can't say enough in its favour. The food is hand-made from scratch and the menu specialises in Lasagne. There were four of us. Two had the vegetarian version, one the special duck lasagne and one the salmon version. Each one was served with a salad which complemented the lasagne. The wines are carefully selected and complemented the meal. Each one of us enjoyed the meal. One of our group arrived really late (having been to a funeral) and due to the kind and helpful arrangements in the kitchen/diningroom was served his meal on arrival. The restaurant is beautiful, with a hexagonal design on the walls and floor and air space above. Another important point is that the seating is not crowded and no one was disturbed by loud music or other guests. I can't wait for the next opportunity to go back there.

CiPiaCe is an extremely cosy and exquisitely furnished and decorated place. Food is top-notch and service is excellent but never too formal, allowing to keep a very laid-back and easy-going atmosphere. A must-go place for brunch in Antwerp and in the heart of the city center.
