Discover Restaurants offering the best Italian food in Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. In 1715, margrave Karl III Wilhelm decided he needed more space than he had in Durlach, so he moved his capital to Karlsruhe and had it designed in circular spokes around his new palace. Because of its unique radial shape, Karlsruhe is sometimes called the “fan city.” Home to Germany’s most important federal courts, the city accordingly teems with civil servants. Karlsruhe Schloss (castle) was badly damaged in World War II, but was rebuilt and is now home to the Badisches Landesmuseum.

Located a short distance from the Schloss this apparently family-run establishment serves typical, traditionally prepared Italian food so do not expect a gourmet experience. Beer and wine are available with the open wine choices reasonably priced. Although pizza is the hallmark and the selections are almost innumerable, I chose to go with more traditional meal, veal parm with spaghetti which was served with a salad. The taste, ingredients, and preparation were comparable to what one might get in an âItalian chain restaurantâ in the States. The veal was so-so, the mozzarella on the stingy side, and I would have expected a bit more spaghetti.

Been there 2 times since I live 20m away. I was welcomed by a very friendly Italian owner. The pizza tastes outstanding! 2 very big slices for 5⬠is unbeatable. The recipes for them are very creative and seem to be changing constantly. Authentic Italian taste and great value for the money!

L'incontro has an attractive interior, a long menu with weekly variations, a short wine list, and a friendly host. The menu encompasses Italian classics as well as unusual and ambitious dishes such as homemade seafood, chestnut or wild boar ravioli. The short list of wines by the bottle comes mainly from local Baden wineries, and several Italian standards are available by the glass, which one is welcome to taste before choosing. A Pinot Grigio from Sicily (3.90 for a large glass) was uninteresting, Dolcetto d'Alba (4.50) a good, full-bodied example of its type. All the pasta dishes are advertised as being made with fresh pasta, which tasted good. Ravioli with a seafood filling (11.50) and a simple flour-thickened wine and cheese sauce was the best dish we tried. Spezzatino di Selvaggio (Wildgoulasch / game stew) with tagliatelle had a generous quantity of tender meat in another thick creamy sauce which lacked any complexity of flavour. Verdure al Limone was very poor; long-cooked pieces of potato, carrot and broccoli in an unpleasant acid sauce. These two dishes did not reach the level of good home cooking. Portions are very large. In summary: good to fill up with at a low price, but not the place for a delicious meal out.

Kais Pizza is located "on" the bridge in the center of Karlsruhe. Our aim is to make the best pizza in town. Therefor we use mostly bio-product and lots of love :) Besides bio-products we a large selection of vegan an vegetarian products. Glutenfree Pizza
If you want to sit down to enjoy a delicious pizza, there are many better options nearby (Il Caminetto, La Corona, ...). Kais Pizza specializes on Pizza delivery rather than culinary art. They manufacture large quantities of Pizza in a quasi-factory style. Still, the quality is acceptable, and small surprise that they are faster than the better restaurants, so during the last ten years, i chose to go to Kais Pizza several times when i was in a particular hurry or when other places were closed.

Everything about this restaurant is top notch. The owners and staff are beyond friendly and professional, the food is outstanding (especially the spaghetti with truffles!), and all of the little extra touches make all the difference. This includes being greeted personally by the owners upon arrival, the white tablecloths and beautiful tableware, and the complimentary glass of champagne and appetizer. If it is your first time and have no idea what to get, I recommend letting the staff make selections or suggestions for you, because everything on the menu is excellent.

Since our first visit in August we've quickly become regulars! Lovely verandah in summer with a view of the Turmberg. Great Pizza for eat in or take out and the pasta, meat and seafood dishes can be recommended too. Friendly efficient team of staff. Will keep on going :)

We were looking for a good restaurant, that could accommodate 12 people on rather short notice and that opens early. What we found was a nice small restaurant with a half separated 2nd room, where we all fit in.I had a serving of Tagliolini with seafood (cannot remember the name. It was NOT frutti di mare, but disks of calamari, clams, lots of small shrimps and one big one still in the shell). It was a nice meal and the others enjoyed theirs too.A special tread seems to be the deserts that are served. I didn't have any, but the others were quite happy with their tiramisu and some sort of ice cream.

I went here with a party of five and we enjoyed the reserved yet attentive hospitality, the quiet atmosphere and of course the beautiful and tasty food. The waiter friendly guides the guests through their selection of drinks and food.Around 10 tables occupy the room and there is room anough to walk between them withouth disturbing other guests. Suffice to say that conversations from nearby tables remain private. The food is of a rare quality. The cooking is obviously done with heart and soul, ie. not your regular professional restaurant type of preparation and this gives a very authentic, warming and delicious taste. The menu has a choice of meat, fish and pasta dishes.Servings are on ceramic colored plates or bowls. (I think the food at SAF deserves other i.e. less opresssive kitchenware as well as non paper napkins). I will not get into detail of our meals, go find out yourself, but just highlight the beautiful arancini arranged on a plate with freshly(!) grated parmesan. Succulent, not fat, echnically perfect. Although they rested too long after preparation and had cooled down too much. I suspect it was very busy in the kitchen. The wine list is adequate but nothing fancy. Italian wines are an art in itself and SAF made a fine selection offered for very reasonable prices. I can only heartily recommend the place.
