I LOVE Pastaficio. The offering is Northern Italian. Everything is fresh, no preservatives and the highest quality ingredients are used. I discovered Pastaficio yeas ago. I am Italian and grew up with my Grandmother and Aunt making all of our meals. The idea of eating Italian out was a silly idea. Nonetheless as a working mom my time is limited and it turns out I am not the cook that my grandmother was! Then I discovered Pastaficio. I wanted my children/family to have high quality meals that were nutritious, delicious, filling and relatively easy to make. I hit the jackpot. Here are my(and my family) favorites: meat or meatless lasagna(northern Italian recipe and DELICIOUS), chicken and veal parmigiana, Italian beef, fresh pasta, chicken tenders. As my boys grew and became heavily involved in sports I stocked up on the Italian beef and Italian bread for late night "snacks". My boys loved it! Very filling and seriously tasty. Ultimately, I knew that my family was eating delicious, healthy food, they liked their meals and I never felt guilty for a minute that I had bought "prepared" food. (I will not buy grocery store national brand prepared foods.)Patty, the owner is sweet, friendly, conversational and always helpful with selections. The store is small with a large kitchen on the backside of the building. This is not a sit down restaurant - it is a store selling fresh Italian food, with a to-go luncheon buffet and a large selection of fresh-frozen entrees and sides (great for stocking up for family dinners). They also cater. They round out the food offering with a nice selection of Italian desserts, wines, Italian olive oils, vinegars, assorted ingredients and other imported specialty items. This has been an important resource for me. I visit about every 4-6 weeks and stock up for the month. Highly recommend.

I went to this restaurant this month for a luncheon with some coworkers. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, calamari, spicy shrimp, chicken parm -> all was excellent. Excellent location for Large Parties. The Service was just OK. The restaurant was empty but server was no where to be found and was slow with getting drinks.mlukasik331, we're sorry to hear about the service during your dining experience on your recent visit. There are few places that have true Italian food across the board, Bella Via in Highland Park, Il., definitely does. They spice their food just right. From Veal Marsala, to Chicken Limone to their delicious lasagna, every dish is outstanding. Portions are generous and service, though harried due to their popularity, is good. Drinks are done well and they have a great bartender. Overall, this is one of our favorites with prices reasonable for the quality of food you will get. It is always busy so be sure to make a reservation. The food will not disappoint. Ciao!

We had a real good dinner here the other night. All the ingredients are super fresh and you can tell the pasta is homemade. I had chicken vesuvio, which would have been great except for the ten pounds of garlic on top....it was everywhere...I could barely eat it. Plus it was swimming in a bed of butter/olive oil....I would not recommend ordering this dish...or order it without garlic and sauce on side. Too bad, since the chicken seemed quite tasty. However, I would return and try the pasta dishes which I think they are known for. Service was a bit sketchy, I ordered a glass of Chianti and ended up with some sort of white wine....and at end of meal we got the wrong bill.....and then even after that our waitress said she charged the wrong amount....huh?? This place is VERY noisy so that may have something to do with the miscommunications....however I would still come back and recommend to others. Prices are ok for the area and what you get. Come early or you probably have a long wait as they do not take reservations and there are only like 15 tables.

The folks at Buffo's know us by our carry-out order even without seeing us. Italian Beef very dry with sweet peppers and well-done fries, no beef juice on the side, Turkey Burger with lettuce, tomato and ketchup, well-done sweet potato fries. This time, the results were so pretty I plated them up on my signature white plate. I know we'll be back, and they'll be ready.

This pizza was unfortunately not very good despite it being cooked in a woodfired oven. The sandwich was decent but it was pretty overpriced (pretty sure it was like 12 bucks which seems excessive for a sandwich). The pizza was also quite expensive as it costed about 15 dollars for a small pizza (only enough for 2 people, 3 if your pushing it. Other than that the decor and overall feel of the restaurant is nice.

Family owned, 90+ year old Northern (Modenese) Italian restaurant serving Classic Italian combined with new constantly changing items and small plates. One of the most extensive (over 4,000 choices) wine lists in North America.
This has been are 7th visit to this gem of a restaurant. Bill the owner is a super host, greats everyone with a smile. Makes you feel at home. Great food and service.

Great location after theater in downtown Chicago and on our way home. Wonderful evening-great service, menu was excellent. Seated in downstairs dining room so able to have conversation comfortably. Meal servings were appropriately sized so able to enjoy desert too! Great first visit, but not our last.

Visiting up north friends brought in pizza and salad and we were pleasantly surprised. The pizza is four stars while the salads we had were very unremarkable and average.....Thin pizza with a slightly sweet sauce was great.... sausage was delicious but couldâve used a bit more. Veggie pizza also was well received despite spinach, not my choosing. With so many nearby pizza options including Pieroâs in HP, I doubt weâd order in from here again... but would be open to eating their Italian food in their restaurant.
