Our stunning bar and Pesto Italian restaurant open seven days a week serves authentic Italian 'piattini', delicious small dishes that deliver big flavour, alongside some fantastic real ales and an extensive wine list.
Excellent parking and easy walk to the train station straight into Liverpool . Our room was spotless and comfy, and check in/out was simple. The best bit though was the onsite Italian Restaurant, wonderful food and the staff were all so helpful and friendly. Well done the whole team!

Elephant Bank is both a modern and authentic relaxed restaurant. That means we base our dishes on the classic Italian tastes and we are always looking for Italian ingredients that represent the sides of Italy that most local people may not know. Elephant

We visited this restaurant for dinner having made a reservation on a Saturday evening, the restaurant is small but not exactly cosy in appearance... there were a couple of parties of 6+ & a few couples present when we arrivedAfter being seated we were informed there was a delay on the food, no explanation was offered so we accepted the menu & ordered two main courses & a bottle of wine... I requested a few chips to go with the lamb cutlets & was promptly told that fries are not available.... pasta or mash only I chose mash potato & a side order of spinach, my wife the shin beef in a pastry caseThe food arrived about 40 minutes after ordering, unacceptably late as lamb cutlets donât need a lot of cooking time & shin beef wouldâve been precooked for a few hours earlier in the day presumablyI was told there was no mash available & given a basket of bread as a substitute! The cutlets were average & not particularly flavoursome, the shin beef bland & the pastry case impenetrableThese items were just under £18 each.... not exactly good value, I ordered the tiramisu as I was still hungry which was fine & the wine although more expensive than it should be was acceptable Upon receiving the bill I was slightly taken aback to be told there would no surcharge for the bread as a gesture of goodwill...Not a culinary experience to remember & wonât be returning in the near or distant future

I dont know what has gone wrong here but the food has really deterioriated. Had the seafood pasta but wasnt told that flavour was not included. It was totally tasteless. Also the sea bass dish was very poor. It seems that the poor fish had been in a fight - and lost. It was ridicously small. Service as good as ever. Sadly, will be giving it a miss and hope that whatever has gone wrong improves.Hi Derek,Thank you so much for taking the time to give feedback following your visit to Gusto Heswall on 16th October. It is our aim to ensure that all our guests leave our restaurant having enjoyed their visit but unfortunately on this occasion we did not achieve this.
