Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Hercules. Hercules is a city in western Contra Costa County, California. Situated along the coast of San Pablo Bay, it is located in the eastern region of the San Francisco Bay Area, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Berkeley, California. As of 2010, its population was 24,060, according to the United States Census Bureau. The site of Hercules was first developed in 1881 as a manufacturing facility of the California Powder Works for the production of its patented dynamite formulation, Hercules powder. In 1882, the Hercules Powder Company was incorporated and assumed responsibility for the Hercules site. It was one of several explosive manufacturers that were active along the Pinole shoreline in the late 19th to the mid-20th century. The small company town that grew up near the facility subsequently became known as "Hercules", and was incorporated at the end of 1900. Starting in the 1970s, Hercules was heavily redeveloped as suburban bedroom community that lies along the I-80 corridor in Eastern Contra Costa County. It has a very ethnically diverse population.

We have had both lunch and dinner here. Both have been an enjoyable experience. Usually fairly quiet with good service. Food is well prepared with amble portions. Seating is a bit crowded but not too bad. Outdoor seating is great when the weather is good. Fairly priced. Coupons available. We will return.

To find such an exceptionally fine dining restaurant in a shopping center was a fabulous surprise! The food was delicious, very fresh and beautifully prepared. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. The service was surprisingly fast. I had the minestrone soup and it was very good. I also had the gnocchi which were delicate and exquisite. My girlfriend had the prawns and they were also good. My only recommendation would be to dim the lighting somewhat if they want to make it a more intimate and romantic atmosphere. Don't miss this culinary gem in Pinole! We will return!

August was grand opening, but I have already had lunch and three dinners there.Miguel, the owner/manager is accommodating, courteous and hard working. Food is fresh & delicious. Sauces are divine. (My late papa, Orazio, told me I have a discerning palate; he cooked, and w my uncle Dominic, ran a little NY-Italian-hood restaurant.) Starting out, restauraunts often have hidden flaws, but not here.Menus vary daily. We've enjoyed Calamari Friti (fried Calamari), Scampi e Pancetta (prawns wrapped with It. bacon), perfectly cooked Lamb with a balsamic reduction, Penne with a porcini, portobello & shitake mushroom sauce, homemade Gnocchi di giorno. Gnocchi with choice of sauces-- and you'll want to go back to try them all. If you have room for dessert, do get chocolate Mousse, only dessert yet tried.

Inspired by Benicia's Tannery building and the remarkable brick walls, the owners pay tribute to the beautiful brick city of Siena, Italy. Enjoy panoramic views of the Carquinez Strait while at the bar/lounge, dining room or from the charming courtyard pa
This restaurant offers stunning views, exceptional wait staff and the best food in BenicIa. Outside dining is an additional feature that makes this an excellent choice for lunch or dinner. The Napa Cabbage salad is the best I have ever tasted. They have an exceptional 3 course lunch menu that serves the perfect portion sizes with a variety of choices. Whether you are planning a evening out with a large group or an intimate dinner for two this is the best of BenicIa.
