Discover Restaurants offering the best Italian food in Hamburg, Germany. Second only to Berlin in size and population, the city of Hamburg is home to one of the biggest harbors in Europe. A stroll along its many waterways and canals illustrates why it has been called the "Venice of the North." Don't miss a trip to the local fish market (Fischmarkt), the Merchants District (marked by its imposing red-brick architecture), a fine dining experience along the river or a night out in the university quarter. And did we mention the Reeperbahn (red light district)? It's quite famous for its… red lights.

Small and cute place to have something. You only get pizza and drink. Also always crowded and at least 30 minutes you have to wait, but fully worth it. Lets try!

Cornelia Poletto closed her star-awared restaurant and opened a new one some time ago. This is a place that has a wonderful atmosphere, a bit like sitting at a table just outside of the kitchen. The cuisine is excellent. Meat is as it should be. Vegetables perfectly prepared and delicious. Dessert classy as well. We all loved the meal, the perfect service, the very friendly atmosphere. You can also buy great cheese, herbs, salt, pasta to cook at home. We'll be back.

Nice scenic spot in the fish market area on the water. Eight of us dined here on business on a Friday night. Not busy at all, so no reservation needed. Service was a little frustrating for English speakers, but we made it work. The food was phenomenal! Highly recommend dining here!

We ate here on our first evening and thought the prices were very expensive (comparing them to Heidelberg & Freiburg). However we discovered that eating out in Hamburg comes at a price.Anyway, the pizzas were excellent and the service was very good.Mille Grazie wir freuen uns schon auf ihren Nächsten besuch

Attended a business Christmas event with pre-ordered meal selection. The food was excellent and staff were very friendlyBut, the time between courses was very long and considering they already knew what every diner had ordered it was far too long.Worth a visit but give yourself plenty of time.Dear guest,Firstly, We would like to thank you for having taken the time to share your experience at cantinetta ristorante & bar. We are pleased to read that you enjoyed your dishes and our service. We sincerely regret that we were to slow at that day for serving the courses. We hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to our restaurant and having the chance to show that we can fully satisfy your expectations.Best regards from Hamburg,Sebastian Michels & Thomas Nelis

Polite and friendly waiter, but that's not enough for a pretended "higher level Italian restaurant":We've ordered fish and a gnocchi-meal:The fish was definitly not freshly caught what you could realise in taste and specially in smell. Don't get me wrong: the fish wasn't spoiled, but not real fresh. Gnocchi obviously have been factory made. Edible, but unacceptable at this completely exorbitant price. These things are a "no-go" to a restaurant having such a demand on its outward claim. It seems that they earn their money mostly by their regular guests, who presumably praise the kitchen enthusiastically here, too.It is not easy to have to pay so much money at an Italian restaurant for this kind of mediocrity. This even cannot be compensated by a familiar atmosphere and friendly, but not very attentive service. Maybe you have to become a regular guest first to change this?Sorry, but this was an experience that we don't need here a second time.

Thanks for the reviews, we were at the Curio almost next door when we walked to this little restaurant who looks like nothing but the food was excellent. Yes there is no menu but they will adjust to your taste. My son is difficult and was wowed but the made in house pasta, my veal was succulent, the goat salad was also excellent. Deserts were so simple and good. We travel a lot but today we found 2 gems in Hambourg, something we really did not expect. And with Prosecco etc. Under 100 euros for 4, a steal...
