Picked this place based on the TripAdvisor review, and because it was by the water. A few minutes from downtown Gunnison. Easy drive, and well worth it.I knew the moment I walked in the door the food was going to be good. This place smells the way an Italian restaurant is supposed to smell. You know it when you smell it. Donât know what I mean? Go to an Italian restaurant in an Italian neighborhood in New York City, Philadelphia, or some other northeastern metropolitan area ... Then you will know. Simply, how this place is not number one in Gunnison is a surprise to me. It was fantastic, food and service!. I was greeted by Erika, who was truly delightful, welcoming, what a fabulous cheerleader for this restaurant. Genuine, friendly, and efficient. What a great way to start my dining experience. My server, Nathan, was among the best servers in recent memory. Knew the menu, assisted me in making healthy choices that fit my dietary requirements, and he was passionate regarding the food and providing great service ... and he also provided great conversation. The meal? - Delicious! Mushroom and spinach appetizer, ordered off the menu, with a wonderful amount of garlic. Delicious salad with anchovies and pinenuts. Ostrich entrée, with some of the best potatoes Iâve ever eaten, and mushrooms. Espresso to end the meal. Great, great, great meal!Water at the back of the property looked lovely too. When I am back in this area I will definitely return to this restaurant. Nicely done! Thanks for "getting it". You must be an east coaster!I think I remembered talking to you. Thanks for appreciating us. We work very hard to do what we do and it's nice to be acknowledged for the hard work.Erika and Nathan are both excellent.See you soon???

The pizza was really good - the service was adequate. The staff was having problems with the TV's - could not operate the remote to select requested college game (FL vs TN). I overheard more of the staff's personal/business conversation than I cared to hear. The food is really good. Better service and more discretions would make this a great place.
I come from the front range frequently to hike, bike, and backcountry ski. I always stop at this place. Just got lucky the first time i stopped in, could'a been the more popular and established pie shops. But it wasnt, it was here, and the pizza is delicious the beer is cold and it just feels to me what a mountain town pizza shop should feel like. Real. With a hands on owner working probably too many hours to pursue his dream after years of working for some of the corp restaurants in the valley, so that aone is good reason to go. Check them out you will be glad you did
