A lovely and truly authentic place, had a wonderful time with fantastic food and charming service with all my family, including very young kids in a late mild winter December ambience. Service and attention to details is a trademark here, the authenticity of home made food served is unique and a good sample of the local regional cuisine of Piemonte. We truly enjoyed the experience and would recommend anyone willing to taste the true regional cuisine to fire the shot and have a wonderful time.

Very friendly restaurant, despite every little english being spoken, and us sadly speaking very little Italian. Very extensive menu, with a good range of fish dishes, particularly considering it's mountainous location. Fairly good value.

From the outside, this restaurant leaves a lot to be desired as it really needs some TLC. However, it's better inside, if you don't look too closely :-) We had the mushroom menu which was quite nice, especially the mushroom and Taleggio cheese risotto and the home-made dessert. Looking at the normal menu, it's a choice of typical Piedmontese fare with very reasonable prices. If you want a feel of a real old-fashioned trattoria, then this is a good place to come and, as I said in the title, the view of the surrounding hills from the windows really is beautiful.

We ate at the 3 Gat with my son, his Italian girlfriend and her parents. Her parents selected the restaurant which was very much a restaurant with a local Italian clientele. The seafood antipasta (12 euros) was highly recommended and most of our party followed this recommendation. It arrived on a large oval plate for each person, which was crammed with all kinds of seafood including king prawns, crayfish, mussels, clams, squid, swordfish steak and tuna steak. This was a meal in itself and really we didn't need our main course which was spaghetti with seafood in a sauce which was shared between my wife and I and was very tasty. Some in our party had delicious looking sweets but I made do with a simple ice cream. There was a copious amount of very pleasant local white wine and a bottle of prosecco to complement the meal and the total bill for eight of us was a real surprise at only 205 euros. We are looking forward to a return visit!!

The restaurant is busy with local people, which is always a good indication of quality/value, plus it is open every night which is unusual in Giaveno. Three of us ate here on three occasions and the food we had was excellent.. There is an extensive menu, although it is currently all written in Italian. The waiters/waitresses were helpful and efficient. The owner (who is generally in the kitchen) speaks good English and was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Here you'll find pretty straight forward piemontese cooking with fresh and quality ingredients. In the autumn they have a special mushroom menu including risotto, agnolotti (ravioli) and fried mushrooms. The place is very clean, the service is attentive and quick and the prices reasonable. On work days there's a lunch menu for â¬10 where you can choose from 4 or 5 pasta starters, 4 or 5 meat entrées, water and espresso are included. It's probably wise to make reservations.

(visited at least other 3-4 times, last one the 24 -08-2012) We (me and my wife) are recurring customers.We brought here parents and friends for good dinners at reasonable prices and everyone was always satisfied by the service [5/5], the environment[4/5], the kitchen[5/5], the wines[4/5] and the price [4/5].They have a fixed menu (I already covered it in a previous review): huge and good with an excellent quality vs price ratio [vote 5/5].But they have also quite alluring choices of the day (always changing and now - since june 2012? - including also some fish based dish).We appreciated very much the following dishes[all 5/5]:* salmon tartar - juicy and well prepared with lemon slices, salad and black and red salt* fondue with black truffles - simply irresistible* black pasta with cuttlefish ink served with shrimps and lemon - with the only drawback of being too small* porksteak gaelic style - with wiskey flavour, truly water-mouthing* mixed fried fish - including a lot of different fishes (and not only shrimps & squids as it is served in many places) and served in a aluminum foil basket* Irish cake - similar to tarte tatin with the addition of berries* baked cream (panna cotta ) with saffron - one of my preferred!and if you are lucky, we suggest you also to try the following wine (that sadly is not always available):Pfefferer 100% Golden Muscat - a very alluring white dry wine as aromatic as the grapes it cames from...(and remeber to keep the room for some drinks... as at the end the meal they offer you - free of charge - at least 3-4 spirits)
