We were taken to the Osteria Vecchia Pergola by a work colleague who described the experience as "strange". It was far from being strange it was wonderful. The ambience is very artisanal and welcoming and full of locals, so you know its good. We were seated at our table the waiter promptly brought the menu and our host described what he would suggest we have as non of us spoke Italian. We had the Salami Misto with Gnocchi Fritto. These warm bread "parcels" are amazing and when you add the plentiful hams, meats and salamis and fresh cheeses they are absolutely amazing. We had local red and white wines which were equally superb. Finally we had a range of beautiful Italian style home made desserts, I had a beautiful Tiramisu. Belissimo. Paolo entertained us with local stories and descriptions of all the excellent local produce we sampled. It really was a great night and if ever I am back in the region (quite possibly) I would go straight to this fantastic and friendly restaurant.

Amazing little family restaurant. We were served with a mixed plate of hams and salami with bread, I had the most amazing minestrone soup ever with more vegetables than soup! It was a meal on its own. Followed by a wonderful sausage dish with polenta and mushrooms. All with a carafe of red wine and a large bottle of sparkling water and coffee for an amazing â¬11.00 each!If anyone stumbles upon this little family trattoria, stop and eat, or you will regret it for the rest of your life.

We came here for lunch twice in a month of my stay in italy. The salumi are very good, gnocco fritto to die for. I found the gnocchi a little overcooked and the sauce was making the plate a little bit of a conglomerate, but its only my opinion because all of my family loved it. The second courses dont have the wow effect, I'd work more on it. Basic but ok desserts, very nice coffee.Housewines are cheap and very good, i loved the sparkling one and we bought a few bottles to take home. The quality of the service is typical agriturismo, a little slow when busy but overall it was fine. The surroundings of the place are beautiful, a real farm with all sorts of animals and nice fields all around make the place even more genuine. The bill averages between 25 and 30 euros depending on drinks...i would say a great deal for such quality and quantity!

The restaurant will not disappoint! Pasta is home made with âkm 0â ingredients. We had 3 different wonderful entrees - mushroom risotto (takes about 20 min and min portion is for 2); hand made tagliatelle with beans and mushrooms (yes beans, really delicious) and finally home made ravioli. Large portions are suited for sharing! Come hungry! Had also the desserts at the end but not enough space for âsecondiâ (meat entrees). The name and logo have a nice story behind...donât want to spoil the fun so just ask the owners:-)Make reservations- parking is on the street - you will love the area as well, some hidden gems (local castles).

Great ambience, great food, great wine! I have been there in winter and it really restore your spirit! It's a little bit complicated to find (there is always a lot of fog in winter) but it's worth the effort!Best plates: anoli in brodo and stinco

You would never know this place exists here, tucked away between the fields, if you werenât a local or didnât have TripAdvisor. But at least locals all seem to know about this place because when we arrived at lunchtime on a Thursday afternoon, the parking place was full of cars and nearly all the tables outside were full. We did attract some attention as clearly the only tourists and we could see they werenât too used to tourists as they didnât have English menus or even speak any English but with pointing on the meat platter on another table and listening on their daily specials (lasagna and pollo) we could understand each other pretty well. The food was excellent, real home cooked food and it was so cheap it almost felt like robbery. What an amazing place! Truly recommend you to take the trouble and find it!

Nice and elegant location inside a charming medieval village and close to the castle of Rivalta this restaurant .Outstanding service, food , atmosphere, local wines. Not cheap.A great place for an anniversary dinner or to mark any special occasion. This was our third time . Last year we enjoyed a fabulous dinner for the New Year's Eve Parties with fantastic fireworks around the Rivalta 's castle .
