Things to do in Frankston
This place never fails to disappoint, for the reason referred to in the title. It's on the expensive end of the pizza spectrum, especially once you wander off into the gourmet territory on the menu. The ingredients are a touch above some - for example, you won't find shredded plastic ham here. They follow the Italian tradition of not overloading the bases with ingredients which is good, but then, when the bases are so soft that you have to fold them to eat them, they lose me.I know some people like that, I don't.I think if you have a wood-fired oven as hot as Hades, get out there and use it to create perfectly crispy, crunchy bottoms.I've given it an average rather than very good for that reason - as far as top end pizza joints go it's just reaching average. That's my take, what's yours?

Read reviews re this place and was looking forward to trying it out. Website advertised quick lunch menu. Ham cheese tomato sandwich toasted was doughy, totally unimaginative. Sweet potato fries soft and gooey.Pizza burned. Calamari about 10 pieces and the rest was rocket.A truly awful experience Never againI am in disbelieve reading this review, at least be true to yourself and tell the truth to the public. Our place that has won various accolades 2017,2018 & 2019 certificate of excellence Herald Sun awards for the quality of food, surely we could get 3/4 or even 2/4 but all seem in disbelieve.First of all we have been out of stock of sweet potatoes for over a month.Second you didn't order the Calamari, Pizza or Toastie as we are well known for that as its cooked in the wood fired. We are a family restaurant and both my wife and I served your table and when the meals were cleared, the plates were empty. The truth is that your table ordered 4 meals of our express lunch menu which non of the meals mentioned were on,with each meal having a variation to it and all adding 4 separate sides to which your were charged an extra $2.50 each, a total of $10 to your bill. When you saw the bill is when you complained about the food in the hope of getting a refund, such a low blow on your behalf to tarnish a 5 star rating establishment.I will leave it to the public to judge the truthiness of your review.

Firstly I'm a massive fan of La Porchetta since trying the amazing rendition of spaghetti pescatore with parmesan cheese. This week I tried the porterhouse steak with mushroom sauce with vegetables and chips. The Porterhouse was cooked to perfection and the vegetables and chips were perfectly cooked and it tasted great and then I tried the mushroom sauce and was completely blown away with the flavour and put it on everything. The service at La Porchetta Frankston is absolutely fantastic considering the amount of customers that are in the room they are very attentive and it's not hard to get their attention and when they do come to the table so very pleasant and when you return to the restaurant I remember you and treat you kindly which is often something that you don't see in this day and age. The best time to go to La Porchetta is for lunch on a Wednesday or Sunday afternoon as it gets really busy and the noise levels can make it hard to speak easy. I highly recommend trying to spaghetti pescatore and the Porterhouse or eye fillet steak with mushroom sauce as soon as possible.

Recently moved to Frankston South and thank goodness we found Footsie's Pizza! Not only do they have a great menu on offer, but the pizzas are delicious. We can order a family pizza for our family of 4 (2A & 2C - 7 & 10yo) and it feeds us perfectly! They are quick and efficient in their service. And they are really generous with their toppings too, without making the pizza base soggy.

Opening the doors in 2019 in the heart of Frankston City, Vero Pasta + Wine continues to showcase a menu influenced by regional traditions throughout Italy with freshly made pastas, lasagne and desserts in a warm and rustic setting, led by Executive Chef
10 points for the decor, love the feel of the place, friendly professional wait staff, Dean Martin music, really nice feel and in summer when theyâre able to open the bifold windows itâll be a great place to be. On the food side of things theyâre probably not quite there, whilst the pasta is freshly made every day the servings were a little on the small side for the price (around $25). However the salumi board was very good, thinly sliced assortment of very fresh meats, olives, peppers and generous bread serving. The barramundi was cooked beautifully and we were offered a complimentary bean salad, very nice touch. There were a few empty tables which surprised me, I thought it would be full, it deserves to be full but they may need to tweak the menu a bit, perhaps a cpl of authentic rustic pizza choices? A big plus was the fact that they didnât have their liquor license so it is byo at the moment ($5 per bottle corkage) everyone I know LOVES a byo restaurant, I hope theyâll keep that option.

No problem booking for a late Sunday lunch for three around 2pm ....... it was lovely to walk into a Spanish/European influences of rustic reds & artistic ceilings. On warmer days alfresco dining with live music would be worthy of another visit. We opted for day specials of Barramundi with mash & vegetables and steak sandwich with chips. Chocolate mousse was light & satisfying and the apple crumble with icecream completed the late lunch nicely. Averaged about $42/pp. Drinks included soft drinks, a Sapporo premium & coffees. Service was warm & welcoming.
