It is situated along the Oude IJssel (Old IJssel) river in a part of the province of Gelderland called the Achterhoek . The municipality had a population of 57,292 in 2017 and consists of an area of 79.66 km (30.76 sq mi) of which 0.60 km (0.23 sq mi) is water. This makes Doetinchem the largest town (by population) in the Achterhoek.

Italian restaurant Stretto (Eten & Drinken) is situated close to the market square in the centre of Doetinchem. When we visited them we were lucky with the weather and could sit at a table on the terrace. Where you can observe all the 'passers-by' and have a great meal at the same time...To be honest: when I look at the menu and see spaghetti with truffle(sauce) I don't have to look further. And it was a good choice at Stretto: a perfect portion and deliciously tasting and well served. The staff seem to enjoy themselves very much and you can sense that in their service, very helpfull without being to intrusive.Fancy an Italian cuisine in Doetinchem: Stretto's the place to be.

We tried Pibia without specific recommendation but were not disappointed. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed the food. You can opt for many different pizza's and also listing of ice cream variations is impressive. For us a pleasant experience.

Heel erg lekker eten, schoon en verse producten. De service blijft uitstekend, de levering van de maaltijden is altijd op het afgesproken tijdstip. Een keer was het eten koud, gebeld en binnen nog geen half uur hadden wij nieuw, vers eten. Dit alles zonder mopperen.

Gezellig interieur. Eten is heerlijk en word met zorg bereid. Alleen duurt het onnodig lang voordat het geserveerd wordt.Je hebt snel wat te drinken maar de tosti die ik bestelde kwam meer dan drie kwartier later terwijl het niet druk was.Dit was niet eenmalig. Overkomt me daar iedere keer. Niet prettig als je gewoon snel een hapje wilt eten. Ga er niet naar toe als je maar beperkt de tijd hebt.
