We tried Caffe Tremezzo in downtown Dedham after the movies and were underwhelmed. The food generally Italian dishes was just ok. My cioppino was probably the best dish we ordered. My wife got got the steak frites which was over cooked and not at all tender. Our service was very rushed and perfunctory. When we lingered before ordering we were felt to feel like we were holding things up. Throughout the meal dishes were thrown down on the table rather than actually âserved.â On tip of this the rock and roll music piped over this Italian restaurant was completely incongruous (in spite of the fact that I love Classic Rock). We will not be coming back here soon.

Vincenzoâs makes delicious sandwiches, panini and salads all made to order. We cater for all occasions. We sell imported meats, cheeses and wine from Italy. We also make everything in house.
If you don't know Dedham--and that's alright--it will be a good idea to use your GPS to find this place. Once you've been there, on a side street with extremely limited parking and a stone's throw (not enouraged) from Dedham Square, you'll be in good shape for a return trip. The name on the sign says it all--Italian. Even the folks behind the counter have thick accents--which frankly add to the ambiance. Sandwiches were decent, with numerous boxes of Italian goodies boxed to go and waiting patiently on the shelves. My wife had a chicken salad sandwich in a crusty roll. Chips and drink are extra. Mine was the "Milanese" with breaded chicken cutlets, thin sliced ham, tomato & provolone in a crunchy, chewy focaccia. It's worth the stop--good food and reasonably priced!

It was good to perhaps very good, but it was nothing special. My steak was good, but didn't compare to the admittedly more expensive ones at the top tear steak houses. When I ordered it "Pittsburgh" our server, who was very nice and efficient, had no idea what I was talking about. Perhaps they should just just call themselves Sofia's and drop off the steakhouse part of their name. And, BTW, parking was a nightmare on the busy Sat night that we went there.

Sweet Basil is one of those restaurants that takes no reservations, has no parking, is kind of cramped and has no bar! But itâs all worth the wait, walking from street parking, getting to know the folks that are right next to you while eating and schlepping your own wine in. The food is that good and the service is outstanding. We are repeat offenders and travel a distance to get there. There are so many good dishes, you just have to try them all.

We went to Vicoâs in Norwood for our Anniversary/Valentines Dinner. We started with the buratta appetizer which is a favorite of ours. The Rigatoni Bolognese was delicious and my husband said the Veal Saltimbocca was also very good. We shared a chocolate gelato which was as good as we had in Italy. This is a fairly small restaurant and you need reservations on Friday & Saturday. The staff is friendly and our server was attentive. Weâve been many times and have enjoyed our visits there.

A busy Saturday night with a pleasant buzz in the main dining area but we were placed in the back room even with an open table reservation. The noise level was obtrusive acknowledged by our very good server. Conversation at our table of 4 was near impossible in this closed in area which was made worse by a very loud table of 4 women insisting to scream and shout at each other.Too bad we wonât return. There was no noticeable noise insulation, surprising in a newly renovated space. The Providence location though not as attractive is a much better choice.

For nearly a decade, Spiga Ristorante served fine Italian cuisine; but in winter of 2017, Marisa Ioccoâiconic Boston restaurateur (and the city's first and only #ExecutiveGirlChef from Italy)âtransformed Spiga from satisfying to sublime, in ways diners ne
This intimate restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating is truly a hidden gem! Service was fantastic and food was delicious. Menu offers a great selection ofdishes, and I loved the Italian Sausage & Pepper Meatballs. Bucatini with guanciale was tasty too. The homemade peach crostata with vanilla gelato was the perfect end to our meal.
