Reviews on Italian food in Danbury, Connecticut, United States. The strangers on Alfred Hitchcock's most famous train began their journey at Danbury, Connecticut's main station, along with thousands of other travelers over time. Now converted into the Danbury Railway Museum, the station and yards are open to visitors, with a collection of historic railroad cars and equipment. Just a few miles outside of the city's pretty historic center is Bear Mountain Reservation, a quiet forest parkland with hiking trails overlooking the calm waters of Candlewood Lake.

We literally lick our plates clean every visit. Some favorites include the Chicken Cacciatore, sausage & pasta and sauteed spinach. The specials are always delicious as well. We've eaten there (and done take out) several times. We can't rave enough about the food and the service is first rate.

At BRIO Tuscan Grille Danbury Fair Mall, we serve the best of Italian grilled specialties, seafood, delicious pasta, wine, desserts and much more inspired from Italy. Taste the best Italian foods in our Italian restaurant, served by our chefs at BRIO Danb
Brio revised their menu again. Many of their best dishes have been eliminated in favor of cheaper but also less desirable dishes. More emphasis on pasta than before. Portions smaller. Server did not bring water or offer bread (we had to ask) even though the place was so empty (weekday evening) that most of the staff was just standing around chatting among themselves. At 7PM, only 4-5 tables occupied. Might be a bad sign for this place.

We ate here, take out, ordering their pizza with the works. It was excellent. Good variety of meats, vegetables, lots of sauce and cheese. Service was quick and staff polite. I would recommend this place, and would eat there again.

Pepeâs in new haven was always the place to go for me and my family for the last 50 years. Nothing like a good tomato pie. When new generations branched the business into more locations we were tentatively reserved that it would be as good. Never quite as good as old new haven but close in taste and atmosphere. Over the last 2-3 years we have seen a decline in quality of pies and now service is rapidly declining and making us go elsewhere. Lately the wait has been over an hour for a phone in order. They consistently mess up the orders and the pies are thicker and often over done where the top is burnt. Staff is very distracted and uninterested in customers and acting robotic in actions leading to errors. Did Pepeâs get to big to keep the quality family place we loved? It appears to have. A real shame since it was a true icon in Pizza.

Recently.brought a group of 10 business associates in for dinner. The appetizers and entrees were great and service was very good. Our only complaint was that the 2 desserts that we ordered could only be described as an abysmal failure. We were there on a Tuesday, so the only rational explanation I can fathom is that the tiramisu and cheesecake were left over from the weekend or perhaps longer. The awful desserts ruined was was shaping up to be a pretty good dinner. So while a lousy dessert isnât a reason to condem an entire meal, it makes me wonder about what other potential âleftoversâ we may have been served. Iâm sorry, but quality needs to be consistent to get a higher score.

Wanting to end the year with a delicious meal we headed to La Zingara. We were not disappointed! The beet salad was refreshing with an eye catching presentation. The seafood risotto was excellent, however I would have preferred fewer shells. We were served twice as many cockles and mussels as scallops and shrimp. All in all, a positive experience and we definitely would return.

At Terra, your culinary adventure begins with flash fried calamari accompanied by saffron aioli and a zesty tomato sauce or carpaccio of filet mignon with black truffle vinaigrette. Twist your fork into linguine with New Zealand cockles, or forgo silverwa
PROs: good overall experience; fine food, spectacular Tiramisu'; great view of the nearby wood, truly relaxing.CONs: none really; probably the service wasn't very attentive. Booths might be better for 3 people than 4.Conclusion: Fine dining and pleasant atmosphere in a premium/luxury restaurant. Worth a detour if you have some time to chill and relax.

I came here with my family on a busy night and received extremely good service the entire evening. Dara was our server and was accommodating for our familyâs needs. It seemed very hectic and there was a wait but everything ended up being in perfect order. I had the fettuccine dolce and it was delicious. The drinks as well were absolutely amazing and the scenery was wonderful the entire time. The ambiance here, like every visit, is super comforting and a beautiful atmosphere. The owners are always very welcoming and house the ability to ensure every customer has a good time, as I have experienced before. They typically will stop by the table to make sure everything is going well and if thereâs anything they can do to improve our sit-down dinner. It is truly why we continue coming back during our visits in the area. My family and I really have made it one of our traditions to come back here and we hope Dolce is around for a long time!
