I discovered this place strolling around Cividale, very friendly and convenient; I had a couple of prosecco glasses on the street window, the food was free of charge and very good. They sell some of their products in the shop next door.I ll be back for sure.

The site is beautiful, likeeise the location. Paper towels are aligned with the idea of informal dining.Dishes are excellent (cacio&pepe with formadifrant is a great idea) as well as frico. I had higher expectation for gubanaService improvable, starter served after main dish, long wait to get strozzapreti, only the kindness of the waiters helped in not having lower rates.Excellent ratio price quality.

We had a wonderful lunch here. Really, we didn't expect much... we were hungry and we stumbled upon it... weren't even sure it was open from the outside. It was a hot day, but their little terrace in the back was cool in the shade and very peaceful. It didn't look fancy to us... but their food looked and tasted like a very upscale, modern italian restaurant! Everything was homemade and delicious. Artfully presented with fresh herbs and decorative touches like little flowers and leaves. We were surprised with a top-notch, delicious and beautiful lunch at what we thought was a very informal little lunch place. Really recommend!

I ate here last night with my husband. We sat outside. The table was set very elegantly and we were given the menus immediately.I chose the tortino with herbs as a starter, which was sublime amd my husband took the crudo d'osvaldo which was terrific. Then I had paccheri pasta with sea bass and tomatoes...10/10. My husband had homemade tagliatelle with fresh porcini mushrooms...a fantastic dish. Then we both took desserts. I had the croccantino with wholenuts ...yummy. I was completely full as all the portions were generous. My husband had puff pastry with cream and fresh fruit ...mouthwatering. We accompanied our meal with the house wine at 4 euros a half litre. Amazing, prices, presentation and service, in total we spent 60 euros in two for a top notch meal in a lovely, quiet setting. The owner was very friendly and kind throughout the meal which only added to our great experience. We will definitely come back asap!

Went here on a rainy Easter Friday for lunch on a recommendation from Lonely Planet. Good choice. The welcome was very friendly from owner Maria Elena, and we were even able to bring in our Golden Retriever. We were offered a mixed plate of appetizers which included some assorted antipasti, polenta, cheese, etc. Very good and quickly disappeared into our empty bellies. We loved how they bring out a bottle of still and sparkling water with cherry tomatoes inside. The bubbles from the sparkling water makes the tomato float and was a conversation piece. They quickly brought out some food for the starving 3-year olds while we let our minds wander in the menu. I had a perfectly cooked lamb while my friends had rabbit and roast beef. But the best part was the homemade ice cream that Maria Elena brings out on a cart and makes a show of mixing up and serving with either chocolate or berries. Yum! The price for what we ate and the quality was also reasonable. Will definitely come again to this beautiful village and lovely restaurant.

Nice interior, very nice service, excellent local food. "Trippa con polenta", the best i have ever had. Also great antipasti (Salami con cipolla e aceto, frico friulano,...) everything "tipico friulano". The lasagne con radicchio was perfect. If you are in that area, a visit is a MUST!

In this modest restaurant,, you will find superb fish, especially seafood that does not taste as though it has been boiled in chloride.. The value for money is excellent and the service, albeit somewhat slow, is extremely friendly. This was one of the best meals that we had in northern Italy, would certainly revisit and try some of their other dishes. The deserts particularly the tiramisu is unique and outstanding..

Cozy bar-restaurant, very kind service. Good choice of wine by the glass, and very reasonably priced. We shared an appetizer of excellent cold cuts, really recommended, while another appetizer of escargots was so-so, as was my veal tripe. A friend had spaghetti with anchovy sauce and liked them. On the whole, I would recommend the place for trying the local cold cuts accompanied by a couple of good glasses, but not for a full meal.

In the heart of town, the Al Monastero Restaurant has cosy little rooms, each with their own unique features. At the entrance there is a bar where glasses of wine, mostly from our farm, are served. The room with the typical fogolar furlan (fireplace), sti
We picked this restaurant via Tripadvisor and it fulfilled and exceeded our expectations. They serve a traditional local cuisine in a "family" setting. Unpretentious, yet very tasty dishes. We tried a meat and a fish dish (can't remember the entries), and they were terrific. Did not go for pasta (carbs!), but I'm sure it's homemade and terrific. The special mention goes to the wine list. It is very extensive and goes all the way upscale, and the local wines by the glass are fantastic and dirt cheap (2-4eur).If you happen to be in Cividale, don't miss this joint, and it might be actually worth an extra detour even if you did not plan to be there.
