Great food and great prices, authentic piemontese cuisine. Highly recommended to experience while in Piemonte

It's not exactly a restaurant, more of a pizza hut where you can also eat quickly but it's more the right place to buy a pizza and take it home, especially "pizza al metro". The oven is an electric one and it tastes so, but the pizza is good, not the best I've ever eaten though... I was told by a local it's the best you can get at Chiusa Pesio and I think it's good enough to go back another time if passing by.

There are two rooms: one big with one hundred places and the other little but nice, close with fireplace. The kitchen is very important for our structure. The cook Renato, helped by Andrea, is able to prepare and offer nice good typical Piedmont dishes. I

Mr. Battistino always offers simple but tasty dishes, the restaurant is unpretentious but in a quiet place, though not very easy to find for those unfamiliar with the area. Horseradish sauce, however, I can not tolerate!

I had a large room with a large balcony on the church piazza. The room floor is tiled so don't forget your slippers because the floor is icy. No tea and coffee facilities on the rooms. Total hell all night: the bells ring every half hour and even twice on the hour. They are so powerful that they can be heard even with window closed and earplugs on. The meals served to people who are on half-board are mediocre (and extremely salty). Breakfast is continental minimum, no brown bread.Note for TripAdvisor staff. This note has to be removed from this post before posting.I am reporting on Locanda Alpina hotel-restaurant, not on the restaurant only. I couldn't tick the right items to select a rating such as sleep quality, cleanliness, rooms etc. Could you please create a hotel section for Locanda Alpina and let me know when it is done, I'll rewrite my comments on the right frame.

One year ago we celebrated a family member''s birthday at Cascina Veja and had a wonderful meal. Most of the courses were good and the service was excellent. We returned this year to celebrate the same family member's birthday and what a huge disappointment. Only one of the courses they served us was acceptable and that being the very first salumi plate. The second course was Russian salad made with raw carrots, raw potatoes and raw peas. The third course was a sausage and egg roll that was served right out of the microwave.... boiling hot and mushy. The fourth course was a flan of zucchini and mint with some sort of unidentifiable sauce.... once again served straight from the microwave and half of my flan was boiling hot and half was still frozen. For the next course we were offered spaghetti with porcini mushroom sauce but what we were served was pasta with no mushrooms in sight. Next we were served ravioli with pasta so thick it tasted like a dumpling and the filling tasted only of cloves. The meat course was supposedly Bocconcini di Vitello with roasted potatoes but what arrived were scraps of tough, chewy meat and rubbery, tasteless potatoes that must have been left over from last week. For dessert we opted for semifreddo with strawberries but what we were served was a solid frozen block of cream that was so hard we couldn't eat it. When we pointed this out to the server, she said "Leave them on your plates for 10 minutes and they will soften up." The quality and service had deteriorated so much in one year that we asked if there had been a change of management - only to be told "No, why do you ask?" An agriturismo that serves frozen food and uses microwaves does not deserve anybody's patronage. Never again.

We had lunch at the Osteria della Badessa to celebrate a wedding anniversary. This was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent cooking. Every course was well prepared with top quality ingredients. The appetizers included Tomato Bruschetta, Anchovies with Bagnet Verd, Prosciutto with fried bread, Vitello Tonnato, Carne Cruda and Flan of Peppers with a Bagna Caoda sauce. All of them were delicious but the standouts were the anchovies, the vitello tonnato and the flan. Both pastas were excellent and the veal roast with potatoes was top notch. It just so happened that were were there on the day of the Stawberry Festival in Peveragno so naturally we opted for strawberries for dessert and we made the right choice... excellent. My only criticism would be the length of time it took for the meal.... almost 3 hours... but we knew ahead of time that they were fully booked on a busy day. Friendly service, good house wine, great food.... we will be back.

This restaurant was a lovely surprise recommended by the hotel as their restaurant was closed that evening. The staff could not do enough for us, although they did not speak English they went out of their way to make sure we had a good meal in excellent surroundings. Thank you so much
