Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Chania Town. Much of the old town district of Chania was developed around its harbor, which was built by the Venetians during the 14th century. Its lighthouse still proudly overlooks the Mediterranean. Here you’ll find several cinemas and historical attractions like the Archaeological Museum, a collection of Minoan and Roman artifacts that’s housed in the former Monastery of Saint Francis. Word nerds will especially enjoy the Museum of Typography.

IL Padrino Ristorante Cocktails & More restaurant is located in the heart of the Venetian Port at old town of Chania and offers you authentic dishes of traditional Italian cuisine.
There is always a great risk with Italian style restaurants in town. Il padrino definitely met our expectations in terms of quality! Chef Ciro proposed a great genuine Italian cuisine which I recommend. It wonât disappoint you if you are looking for a nice pizza and pasta!

We go here every time we are in Platanias/Agia Marina.Great Italian food. Best carbonara in the world according to my daughter. Their Frutti di Mare Pasta is also great. Friendly staff, although a bit inattentive at the time we were there. Only minus is that their is no playground for children.

Beautiful, stylish restaurant built on the old Kastelli wall in the wonderful, picturesque Venetian harbour of Chania. Established in 1993, Kariatis enjoys an excellent reputation for top quality food and service with an impressive menu created and served
Excellent atmosphere, very underwhelming food. Perhaps if you spend more the dishes are better. I got a chicken salad (when it says âserves 2â they MEAN it!), and my husband got margarita pizza & red wine. We were hoping for more from the pizza crust, looked much better in photos. Neither dish was very flavorful. The salad was just OK. Dressing was on the heavy side and didnât settle well. If youâre looking for an upscale dining feel for an affordable price (and not so upscale food) this place is for you. If youâre looking for a good quality traditional taste of Crete, look elsewhere.

Located in the most charming neighbourhood in the old city of Chania, just 2 blocks away for the shopping centre. We open at 17:00 and ideal time for a coffee or aperitif from a list prepared where your can choose your favourite drink right after shopping
After having had one too many Greek salads, we came to Ginger Concept after having seen it from our table at the opposite Well of the Turk. The surroundings are cool and contemporary. Service was a bit slow but very friendly. Babies were welcome. The mushroom risotto was INCREDIBLE!! The pizzas looked good and I thoroughly enjoyed my tuna tartare. Quite a nice trendy, sceney place with lots of beautiful customers. Probably quite nice for a date night!

Every time I visit Chania, I have to spend an evening at La Bodega. The bistro is the everything that is amazing about Chania in a small space. (And for the record, I have tried over 15 restaurants in the Old Town â La Bodega is the only one that I return to multiple times during the same trip). My top 5 remarks:1) I have never felt pressured by the staff (you will never see them at the edge of the bistro trying to pull you in - they donât need to lol). As a tourist, I really appreciate this because it makes it so much more pleasant.2) I had the Cretan focaccia and a prosciutto dish during my last visit - was amazing! Superior taste and quality, cannot even compare to other options on the harbour. Tomatoes were perfectly ripe with rich colour, olive oil was very flavourful, yet not drowning in oil, etc. Perfect balances in my opinion.3) there are fewer than 25 spots in the entire place (compared to over 100 at some other places in the harbour) so it is a VERY cozy and warm atmosphere. Sometimes not always enough space to sit right away but ALWAYS worth the wait.4) wine list is quite extensive and reasonably priced for the harbour, and the staff is very knowledgeable. Great date spot and a nice spot to just grab a drink in the evening, even after dinner.5) Niko (the owner) literally goes table to table to meet every customer and learn about where they are from and seems to genuinely care. Every time I come back to Chania, he remembers everything I told him the last time. Clearly a passionate and caring owner.Thank you Niko + La Bodega team for a great evening (twice this trip actually!)Would highly recommend.

My husband and I visited this place a couple of time while in Chania and it was always great. You can order a half of one type of pizza and a half of another. They are delicious! Double cappuccino- excellent! And the prices are lower than the rest in the town. Definitely a must if youâre in Chania.
