We visited the Vieux Lyskamm a couple of times last week whilst staying in Antagnod, and had planned to visit again when we moved to Champoluc - it's worth a trip - but circumstance didn't allow. We had possibly the best starter we've ever had, at lunch time - and we really do love our food! We enjoyed local lardo on crisp breads, topped with delicate, fragrant chestnuts and honey, with a porcini flan alongside. It was so completely wonderful! The other meals were brill too, but this was a complete show-stopper. The other time we visited for aperitivi - two Spritz Aperol were complemented with a wooden board full of wonderful salumi, from spicy sausage to a wonderful mortadella-type meat to a coppa, with some tasty crunchy breads to accompany. Typical Italian generosity. We were greeted with true Italian hospitality too, and our compliments about the food were met with true gratitude and a big smile. The grandmother of the chef was bobbing in and out, and spent a long time fussing over our baby, too. We were made to feel completely welcome. I only wish we could visit this restaurant with more ease - it's a long way from England! But to anyone visiting the Monte Rosa area - I would recommend going out of your way to eat at this fantastic, welcoming, and stylish restaurant.

We walked in one evening only to find out the place was fully booked. So we booked for the next evening and ended up eating here again because we liked it very much. This is a more casual place compared to some others but very good value. The main feature is the huge pizza oven. The pizzas were really good, and the pizza list is a kilometer long (that is approx 0.6 miles for our English friends :-)). We tried the steaks as well and liked them, too.

While traveling through the Piedmont wine region, we visited a beautiful ski village for a few days in Champoluc, Italy. On the trip, we explored some restaurants that featured dishes from the local area. We found a hidden gem at the bottom of Romey Road and had a fabulous dinner at Le Sapin. My two favorite dishes were the vitello tonnato (veal with tuna sauce) and arrosto di vitello coi funghi, which is roast veal with mushrooms. The entire menu is superb!! I love that it is truly authentic local Italian food. If you are visiting Champoluc, you must give this place a try.

Discovered during this holiday, it has become a fixed event thanks to the great ice cream, the cheese and milk market .. and the short walk to reach it.

Excellent food, outside terrace area as well as indoor dining. VERY good value for money. Coped well with a booking for 8 for lunch at short notice. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff with 2 indoor eating areas. On the road level there is a modern spacious more open plan space and downstairs has a more intimate cosy feel. Highly recomend

Not a place you will stumble on, but our guide brought us to it, and what a find. I love the authentic old building(s), beautifully renovated.Service was warm and efficient, and the food excellent. A big notch up from the usual mountain cabin food, with some refined dishes. We also discovered a few great wines. I would like to go back here!

What an amazing find. We nearly missed out on the best meal of our holiday - we phoned several higher ranked restaurants in Champoluc but they were all booked on this busy Friday night but the Sabot found a space for us. Thank god the others were booked - we ended up having the best meal of our holiday here. It's a quaint, traditional restaurant some way off the beaten track in Champoluc. We had a designated driver and would recommend you do whatever you need to to find your way here. Packed with local people, the restaurant area is pretty retro in a very understated way. Service was warm and friendly but very professional, just the right balance. Felt like they couldn't do enough for us. Table was laid and waiting for us with snacks, really good wine selection. Menu has a fantastic selection of local dishes with plenty of choice for all and food was plentiful and really good. We'd definitely recommend the mixed platter and stuffed peppers for starters. And the side order of chips were proclaimed by one of our party to be the best they'd ever had. Dessert was followed by a snifter of home made grappa and an incredibly reasonable bill. Over several visits to the area we've been to some lovely, sleek restaurants but often felt the food hasn't quite lived up to the promise. Le Sabot exceeds expectations and we will definitely return on future trips.

Situated in a carefully and well renovated house at the village centre lies this surprisingly lovely restaurant. The staff is warm and friendly. The cuisine is traditional and with plenty of locally made food. The cold cut salami and cheese platter is not measured in small/large but instead in centimeters length of the platter. Some positive surprises was beef tongue in combination with vitello tonnato. When in Champoluc, do not miss this restaurant.

I spent many lunchtimes here as loved the fact it was full of Italians. The staff were great, the food delicious with a lot of gluten free. The beer and Prosecco fab.
