Best place for an informal reasonable home cooked lunch. Menu does change daily all very local rustic Tuscan dishes . Had some pastas dishes and sauces that I have never heard of before- and I read a lot of cookery books! Staff real friendly and fun in helping us understand what the ingredients of recipes were, wine reasonable , locals eat here.

Located in an unattractive building at the south-western end of the village of the same name, this is very much a locals' restaurant and for this reason doesn't even open its doors until 8pm (at which time it's pretty devoid of atmosphere as it doesn't really get going for another hour or so!). The decor can best be described as kitsch, with a florists' worth of plastic flowers, but even so comes across as warm and 'sincere'. English isn't spoken.I've mislaid my notes as to exactly what we ate but my recollection is that it was better than we expected, the highlight for me being a small square of Dauphinoise potato (or similar) that I was given as a taster after I'd finished my main meal. I also recollect that the menu outside bore absolutely no relation to the one inside!I like to rate this a Good rating rather than Very Good, but it's better than Average so I've given them the benefit of the doubt...

Aperto a pranzo e a cena, il nostro ristorante è una piccola realtà culinaria dove si riscoprono i sapori che rievocano ricordi appartenenti al passato, quando le massaie si dedicavano alla preparazione di pietanze semplici ma indimenticabili.
Wow...the ratio quality price is amazing. Pizza, pasta, meats and seafood...we tried it all. It was our favourite restaurant on our 3 week holiday. You always get excellent service from Victoria and Roberto. Always a pleasure to be greeted by Mikaela. So many locals...entire families stop in to enjoy a leisurely meal. A true reflection of it's greatness!!!!Regards and thanks,Louisa and RicardoSuzanna and RobertoCanada

Very good for all kind of dishes. Can recommend the pizzas especially, but also the grilled meats were very good. Great, friendly service. Reasonable priced for quality and class. Relaxing terrace with some views of the mountainside. Went there twice in one week.

We spend a great evening with friends dining and drinking at this most pleasant local restaurant. We were served lots of food. The risotto is excellent, we had "fish soup in a bag", very unusual but delicious. Most fish dishes were prepared with sardines. Parking on the street was adequate. The place was busy, therefore reservations are recommended. The wine list is extensive and beer on tap is served.

La Piana is a rustic, refined and welcoming place in the heart of Castiglion Fiorentino, with a large terrace offering an enchanting view of the valley. Modern elements create a perfect blend between past and present. You will taste traditional or revisit
Michaela the chef owner who has cooked at such Michelin Starred places as Il Falconiere bought this space which has been a restaurant for years but brought great cooking dialing up Tuscan standbys served on a terrace overlooking the Val di Chio.Everything we ate was top notch with local great ingredients perfectly cooked. We had the classic salami and cheese antipasto with meats sourced from small local producers. For primi we had spaghetto with sugo finto or âfalseâ sauce which was the base of a ragu served without the meat and topped with bacon and the wonderful house made tagliatelle with meat sauce that included a touch of liver to bind the flavors. Secondi included roasted pigeon served on spinach and lamb rolls roasted on chickory. A nice brunello worked well with the food. The servers were well versed in the food and spoke perfect English. What a pleasure it is to have great Tuscan food with a view.

I eat here quite often, it's just outside the town's front gate. Lovely food, very well cooked and presented. The pizza isn't outstanding but it's more than competent. But why bother with pizza when there are so many other interesting dishes? Very friendly staff and exceptionally reasonable prices. Probably the best value in the town.

We have been coming to a Villa near CF for 4-5 years now, and we always make a b mark for this restaurant, and always insist that friends come too.The steak cannot be beaten, although the fillets I must admit ate better than the dinosaur slabs that they bring out.Sit outside away from the fire, the Tuscan starter is great followed by a steak.Waiters are amazing and are so helpful, especially the head waiter, so friendly!Book a table, don't have lunch and then go for it - an amazing place! They are consistently good.

In the historical center of Castiglion Fiorentino, there's a place that combines the tradition of the typical Tuscan cuisine with the refinements of the period. Mixed cutting boards, fresh pasta with rich or delicate sauces, grilled meat, tartare, carpacc
Now I know it's a bold statement and not to be taken lightly (trust me I have eaten enough steak around the World) but I can honestly say it was the best steak I have ever eaten! The restaurant looked quiet from the street but we were shown through to a beautiful courtyard out the back. This restaurant is owned by a lovely young couple who were so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing and we would highly recommend!

In the search for ancestral spontaneity of the language of nature, Claudia Russo draw up a kitchen free from any reference, in which the purity of taste and simplicity fully perform their expressive powers...A shared pleasure... A Menu, prepared with the
We were staying in a hotel nearby so saw the restaurant rated highly for the locality. On arrival we were greeted by Claudia herself who told us that the food is all handmade using ingredients they grew and animals they bred themselves on the farm, they even press their own wine which we enjoyed so much we bought a bottle to bring home! The food was absolutely delicious and obviously extremely fresh and the service was attentive particularly Roberto who was keen on informing us of the source of the ingredients and how they made it to our plates which we loved! Definitively give Claudiaâs âgardenâ a try!! Thank YOU!!!Claudia Russo
