Reviews on Italian food in Cannes, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. Galas, regattas, the Film Festival and an outrageously attractive and affluent set characterize Cannes. Vast yachts obscure the view and the town lives up to its motto, "Life is a festival." People-watching is the activity that brings most visitors to Cannes, and hotel-lined La Croisette provides a fine promenade. First popularized by Coco Chanel, Cannes beaches are a huge draw. Get expensive seaside food and drinks service on hotel sand or opt for the free public beaches, Plages du Midi and de la Boca.

3 years ago we have been in this little restaurant with a very basic ambiance and interior design. After my last review the owner has send a reply and he was believing that I need to get informed about wines. Maybe he should read more of my reviews (more than 1100 under this profile) to recognize that first, we always drink a bottle of wine when we sit in a restaurant. Second we are several times a year in Italy so I guess we know more about wines than the owner of this restaurant.Despite of this it is a pleasure for me to pay him a compliment when in low season the restaurant is fully booked and no table is available. The young waitress has given us 2 seats at a table for 6 people.Although the waitress has served the other 4 people at our table and she returned very often to our table, it took 15 minutes that she was able to take our orders. We ordered a bottle of white wine, Grillo, charged with 26,00 â¬.The majority of the listed wine bottles is very expensive. In addition we ordered half a bottle of water (3,50 â¬).Then we got a Pizza Diavola (13,00 â¬). The dough was fine, but the number of small or little slices of Salami was poor.80% of the Pizza was covered with tomatoe pasta and blue cheese. The other Main was Ravioli Buala Tartufo ( 25,00 ⬠!). The taste was good.Visa Card will be accepted. Refilling the wine is self service. To get the bill took 15 minutes. The waitress got 3 reminders, but she was not allowed to do this. At 10:30 p.m. the restaurant was almost empty. The bill was done by the supervisor (wife?). Finally there was no question about beeing satisfied and no drink from the house was offered. My subjective rating:Service: 2-3 pointsQuality and preparation of meals: 3 pointsAmbiance: 2-3 pointsValue for money: 2 points

We ate outside in the lovely park by the restaurant. Beautiful quiet setting away from the busy promenade and touristy areas. Lots of locals enjoying beautifully prepared meals all clearly prepared to order with hot, fresh ingredients. The service was perfect and every course perfect Reasonable wine list including some nice half bottles We enjoyed wonderful pasta and salads...not to mention wonderful desserts

We booked this restaurant on the strength of TripAdvisor reviews and we werenât disappointed. We were given a pleasant outdoor table and the service was very friendly and efficient. The views towards the port and the âwheelâ were very nice and the road wasnât too busy. The outdoor area isnât that big and some of the tables looked a bit close together, although this did give the restaurant a nice feel.My wife chose a spaghetti dish, which she enjoyed, although she thought there should have been a few more (visible) ingredients (only a few tomatoes were obvious). I opted for the pizza Massimo which was very good - lots of topping, although I wasnât too keen on the very creamy cheese (my taste). We had a couple of glasses of good house wine and the bill came to just under â¬60, which was fairly typical for restaurants in Cannes.I would recommend this restaurant and suggest you book a table as it gets very busy outside.Dear T8498CAdavidh, Thank you for this kind review and your recommendation. We hope to see you again during your stay for another couple of glasses of wine :) Best regards, Cheer Mamma

Il Convivio really is a gem that should not be passed up on.The staff, chef, management, every single person I encountered was friendly and helpful and our waiter, who struggled with English, was still able to give us all of the best recommendations for food, wine and dessert, all based on our different tastes. And he hit the nail on the head every time (big thank you!)The best meal on the table was voted to be the Sea Bass Ravioli. Too amazing to describe.Although we all ordered very different meals, our waiter found a wine that paired well with everything (good food pairs very well with good wine I suppose!).Their menu has so many amazing options, maybe make sure that you have time to visit twice!

No prices on your website menus (all a la carte no fixed price menus!) allows you to vary them, though unpleasant surprises tend not to encourage returning diners. Food was simple and not served hot when it should have been. Wine list shirt and mostly expensive. Main course looked as if dropped into the plate from a height producing artistic splashes all over the plate. Service was inattentive, eg wine and water refills and the value for money poor. If the test is would we go back, this would be a clear no.

Pizzeria, homemade food , dish of the day , desert of the day View point 100 meters Historic quarter Walking zone Open : Dinner : 19:00 pm / 00:15 am every day See you soon
I do not like to write negative reviews but unfortunately this one is. It was our last day in Cannes and I wanted to surprise the kids to take them out for pizza (as I read excellent reviews about this restaurant). We came half an hour early and, as there was no free table outside, we sat inside and took a drink while waiting for our table reservation. In half an hour there was still no table for us outside but the manager offered us our drinks. However, we ended up waiting one more hour. Kids were hungry and it was a hot day, so very warm inside. Finally I said to the manager that we do not want to wait any longer and he became very impatient with us even though it was not our fault. We just stood up and left. I understand it was a busy night, but if you book a table in advance, you should get it, especially with two children.

Traditional italian and liguria food. Home made fresh pasta, top quality olive oil from our italian farm.
Had a lovely meal here on 24th September for my wifeâs birthday. Unlike many other restaurants in Cannes it was small, relaxed and there was lots of room. The tables fir two were bigger than those for four in other restaurants and the tables were well spaced too resulting in a really nice ambiance. The food was lovely. Service really exemplary.Really couldnât fault it at all.
