Unfortunately we stopped for lunch here on Tues 25 October - bad decision. Only two tables occupied on our arrival by French people (thought that was a good sign). The restaurant filled up quite rapidly thereafter - again with French people. Strangely, even though they arrived after us, their meals arrived before ours.My partner chose pizza and I decided on lasagne bolognaise. Oh dear! The pizza looked & apparently tasted OK, but nothing special. We asked for freshly ground black pepper. The waiter just pointed to a small pepper pot on the table - that was it! I asked twice for parmesan. When it eventually arrived it was in a plastic shaker. It took several 'shakes' to get some out. It smelt and tasted very strange. I expect it was parmesan - many months ago. My lasagne was served in a cast iron dish and was very, very hot. Must have been under the grill for some time - very burnt on top. When it finally cooled down (by this time my partner had almost finished his pizza) I regretted my choice. It was very bland and extremely greasy. Very poor quality minced beef. No sign of bechamel sauce. Tried a small quantity and left the rest. The decor left alot to be desired - pink and green. The whole restaurant had a 'grubby' feel to it. The waiter had quite a surly attitude; he was more interested in talking continuously to a table occupied by 3 French ladies. Not a good experience.

Came across this restaurant as all the others on the square were full and so glad we walked a bit further. We had only been in Calais an hour at 8pm and we all needed to eat, pizza with a 10 & 12 year old was what we were looking for.The restaurant is nothing to look at from the outside, but don't judge a book by its cover. The waitresses were friendly, helpful ( we tried out our dreadful French on them ) and professional. It was busy, there was a little wait, but we were on holiday and the French draft beer was good. When the pizzas arrived they looked delicious and everyone finished what was on their plate. The pizzas were a good size, just bigger than the large plate. We were planning on having desserts but we were all just too full afterwards. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone. 4 delicious pizzas, 4 magnificent draft beers & 2 bottles of water & tax =â¬61

Stopped for a takeaway last week on way back to UK.Staff so very pleasant and helpful. All freshly made and looked delish.Sadly when got back to hotel to eat, it was just about inedible. The cheese, think it was lumps of Camembert but could be mistaken was just so salty.Ended up picking lumps of cheese off and throwing. Other Pizzas in the group were good though.
