unexpectedly came to this restaurant when a group meeting which had been scheduled elsewhere had to be moved due to a problem with the first restaurant. the staff kindly accomodated us in the back room. the service and the food were fabulous. extensive wine list and menu. the steak melts in your mouth. prices were reasonable. a real find!!
We recently stopped here since it had opened not to long ago. The interior is quite attractive and the staff is very friendly and helpful. While the staff was very nice service was quite slow. My companion really enjoyed her meal. I thought mine was alright. It seemed over sauced to me. We will give it another try and I am hoping my next selection will be better.

I have stopped at a John's best in Mount Kisco NY once back in the 1990s and thought it was good then. My wife and myself have passed by the one in new milford and Brookfield a number of times and always said we should stop in and finally did. My wife started off with the tortolini soup which she said was excellent. I had the clams casino which were tasty but rather small. I also had a house salad which was crisp and tasty. My wife entrée was the shrimp parm hero had 3 large shrimp that they must have triple breaded and the sauce she said was a little bland. I had the zuppa the pesce which was excellent at least 5 shrimps 5 scallops 4 to 5 ounce lobster tail cooked perfectly with lots of mussels and clams and calamari over penne pasta fri Diablo excellent experience. Good service, clean, only complaint lacking various bottled beer. Will return, surprisingly good Italian food.

Agora- The hidden gem of Brookfield CT. We serve Italian and Mediterranean food. Enjoy a Cozy atmosphere with live piano Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I can't remember how many restaurants have occupied this space and failed, but maybe this time we have a winner that can survive. Nicely redone interior is warm and inviting. Menu is fairly extensive with nightly specials that are varied and interesting. Short wine list, but one that offers decent choices over a fairly broad price range. Service staff is friendly and personable, but dreadfully slow. We went with friends on a very slow night and the wait for everything from the bread being served to the time that the first course arrived was almost painful. The food was excellent, the price reasonable for the quality of each dish, and the portions bordered on being wasteful, they were so large. If the service was better...almost exclusively in timing and attention...this venue would rate a solid "excellent" rating. Would definitely return. Average two course dinner w/ moderately priced bottle of wine should run a little over $100 per couple w/gratuity.

Nothing great. Pizza was "doughy". Salad was pretty good. Better choices around. However they do deliver.

My husband and I visited here for dinner after a movie. It was our first visit but will surely not be our last. Staff are friendly, the establishment is clean, and the food - delicious and plentiful. Be sure to try the eggplant rolatini and the veal parmigiana - both were delicious.Thank you for a lovely meal, we will be back.

Pepeâs in new haven was always the place to go for me and my family for the last 50 years. Nothing like a good tomato pie. When new generations branched the business into more locations we were tentatively reserved that it would be as good. Never quite as good as old new haven but close in taste and atmosphere. Over the last 2-3 years we have seen a decline in quality of pies and now service is rapidly declining and making us go elsewhere. Lately the wait has been over an hour for a phone in order. They consistently mess up the orders and the pies are thicker and often over done where the top is burnt. Staff is very distracted and uninterested in customers and acting robotic in actions leading to errors. Did Pepeâs get to big to keep the quality family place we loved? It appears to have. A real shame since it was a true icon in Pizza.

The restaurant is located in a small strip mall and the interior is typical Italianesque style. Our orders were taken quickly and soon after a meager basket of bread and butter arrived along with our soft drinks. The salads were simply a bowl of chopped iceberg lettuce and a couple of halved grape tomatoes. My husband ordered Shrimp Scampi. The linguini was under-cooked and the sauce was flat and bland. I ordered Baked Stuffed Shrimp. The filling was a gluey mass of bread with a few slivers of crab(?). The sauce was very good though, lemony and tasty. We did not have dessert. I doubt very much if we will return to Mangia Mangia.

Portobello Restaurant has been in business since 1997! We use the freshest and best ingredients. We are BYOB!
This place is great! We order every Friday night, and the owners even recognize our order without asking our name since we are such regular customers!! Pizza is delicious, the salad with shredded mozzarella is great, the soup is also wonderful. The BYOB policy works wonderfully for them, since we can have a table of 8, order salads, appetizers, and pizzas and it still comes to $25/couple - can't be that for a great dinner.Thank you!!
