Buona is a quick casual restaurant chain that features Original Italian Beef, Pizza, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Sandwiches and Salads.
Best known for Italian beef and Chicago-style hot dogs, Buona Beef does have some other things on the menu, but the Italian beef definitely keeps them at the top of their game. One of about 20 stores, this Buona Beef in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood has plenty of parking and offers outdoor dining. The staff is friendly and very efficient. The prices are very reasonable. We stopped at Buona Beef partly because we were in the neighborhood and partly because I had an e-mail on my phone with a birthday promotion. We ordered a regular beef with both types of peppers and dipped, as well as a kids meal beef sandwich. Delicious!
We had been visiting friends in the neighborhood of this Beggars Pizza and they suggested that we order a pizza from Beggars Pizza. It is located in the Stonebrook Shopping Center, so there is plenty of parking. We ordered a large stuffed sausage pizza and we thought it was pretty good. The price was reasonable and there was more than enough for the four of us. The staff was efficient and the pizza was ready right on time - as promised. They have a varied menu,

Ordered sandwiches and salad to be delivered a couple weeks ago. Ordered the chicken Parmesan and the BBQ chicken. BBQ chicken was awful. Basically they just put a ton of BBQ sausage on the chicken and put it on the bun. The sandwich was swimming in the BBQ sauce. The chicken Parmesan was more cheese then chicken and the quality of chicken was poor. The person who took the order said the sandwiches came with fries but there were no fries delivered. Salad was ok. Very disappointing.

Excellent pizza and great delivery. Tons of sauce and cheese. Always delivered hot. When neighbors travel far from home, most order out here the first night they are home!

Absolutely wonderful experience! The restaurant is beautiful, the bar is large enough to sit and have a drink before dinner, and the food is wonderful. If you sign up, you get a % off your age for your birthday. The owner walks around the restaurant-nice touch for sure. Love this place. Great Italian menu! Will definitely go back.
The restaurant never stops serving great delicious Italian food. Always ask for their specials. The service is efficient and nice. The flaming cheese appetizer is appealing to the eye and palate. If you don't see something on the menu, ask. I wanted veal. It wasn't on the menu, but I asked and they served up an amazing dish. This is the hangout for local celebs and actors.
We were meeting some old high school classmates for dinner at Giuseppe's Pizza at 13351 Olde Western Avenue in our old hometown of Blue Island, Illinois. Giuseppe's has a reputation for producing the best pizza in town, the best since Ray's Pizza was our favorite hangout in the 1950s. But we made one rule for the evening--no pizza. The idea was to order a smorgasbord of appetizers and entrees and desserts that everyone could sample. Giuseppe's has become a very popular gathering place as the Olde Western neighborhood has become a popular mecca for restaurants and bars, the Division Street and Rush Street of the south suburbs. It's a small but raucous and friendly atmosphere. And the food never disappoints. For appetizers, we ordered bruschetta, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, shrimp cocktail, buffalo wings and minestrone soup. A good start, right? For entrees, we chose spaghetti and meatballs, baked meat ravioli, baked lasagna, veal parmigiana and fried shrimp. For dessert, we sampled tiramisu, cannoli and lemon sorbet. My sister swears by Giuseppe's, too. A few weeks ago, she attended her 50th high school class reunion across the street, then stopped at Giuseppe's afterward for a late-night snack. But she broke the rules. She and her pals shared a pizza.

This was our 2nd time having a large party at the 12700 S. Kedzie Ave. location. Unlike our 1st experience last year, Beggars did an overall poor and unacceptable job with our 2017 party. As instructed by their party coordinator we arrive at 12:30 for decorating for our 1:00 party. Having dropped our tablecloths off the day prior we expected to find the banquet room almost ready by 12:30. Instead, we arrived at 12:30 for our 1:00 party to a completely dark and empty room! Communication throughout our event was terrible, we had to find the servers and ask the servers for everything. The servers had no idea how to host or communicate with us. Around 1:30 the food started coming out at random but no one ever communicated with us that all the food was out on the buffet and that the food was ready to serve, so the food sat out longer than it needed to. We had to hunt for and find the server and ask if we could start eating. Then once we started serving food from the family-style buffet, food items naturally started running and the Beggars staff were not around to replenish the food items on the buffet leaving the balance of our guests standing in a line. Once again, no communication and no server around. I had to find the server and tell them we ran out of food which then took forever to replenish at this point because literally every food item was empty. Please think twice before booking a banquet event at this location! We never found a Beggars manager during our entire 3 hour event.

We arrived in town and I saw the review and decided we had to try it. We got a seat in the bar area. There were various TVs around but the sound was down. The waitress showed up and I told her we had no idea as to what was the best to order. She suggested the meatball appetizer. --- DoneWe then ordered two different Italian dishes. Way too much food. The meatballs were very good. The appetizer is 15 (I think) small meatballs with sauce (gravy) and cheese. Very tasty. We finished half of them. The meals were good too and, of course, we took food to our daughter's for her to have leftovers.Best was the chef came out to chat with us and others. I always like that they come out and see what people think of their dishes. I'm glad we went.
