Enjoying an evening at the Restaurant of Villa Principe Leopoldo is an experience that should be tried at least once in a lifetime. Sit at tables set with linen, silver and crystal and let yourself be seduced and conquered by the sincere and passionate cu
The restaurant is a special place with view on the Lugano Lake and the Mountains. Staff are attentive with impeccable service. The food is high-quality, well- cooked and displayed. The atmosphere is very pleasant with live-music piano and Sunset; romantic...We do appreciate the recommendations for the wine and personalization for the meat cooking and fruit dessert. We recommend this restaurant as a best one in Lugano.Valet service.Dear Guest Gaihera, we want first of all to thank you heartfully for your review and for dedicating time to write and share it on Tripadvisor.Your words compensate for the efforts of all the staff. Egregi signori, vi scrivo perché volevo pubblicare sulla home page la chiusura del ristorante per ferie dal 04/08 al 25/08. In attesa di una vostra risposta porgo distinti saluti
This small restaurant, with just 1 waitress and delicious food, is definitely worth a stop on your visit to Lugano/Paradiso. We enjoyed a delicious and very reasonably priced meal here. This is a cosy restaurant with the feel of a country inn, there are a few tables in each room, so do call ahead for a reservation. We had the grilled lambchops and there were mouth wateringly delicious!!!!

Located on the shores of Lake Lugano, at the foot of Mount San Giorgio, Grotto Pojana is the ideal place to enjoy true ticinese cuisine. Run by Antonella and Renato Bordogna, it offers a selection of traditional dishes that take you back to forgotten tast
Somewhat out of the way, however worth the effort. Recent lunch was excellent. Bruschetta with tomato and basil and stuffed zucchini flowers were spectacular. Risotto ai funghi was classic and one of the best I have had. Try the Turriga red wine from Sardinia-also excellent. The restaurant overlooks Lake Lugano and has a small number of outside tables. Inside the tables are typical family style. Excellent parking, which is rare in this area. Overall a wonderful experience.

A few steps away from Lugano a real, traditional, local grotto inside the green forest.Grotto Morchino at Pazzallo. The Grotto Morchino is a typical local restaurant, it has a cozy room inside with an open fire place and outside a cool, covered terrace. In
Decent place for a dinner with very friendly service, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there again. We had Antipasti Morchino, grilled rabbit and luganighetta sausage. Cheese and most of the cold cuts were very good and I also enjoyed their sausage. I wasn't impressed with the rabbit though. The meat wasn't as juicy and flavorful as I expected. Also, I doubt that our dishes were done on actual grill. At least, I didn't see it outside, but it may be different during warmer time of a year. Also, keep in mind that they have menu only in Italian, so may want to check their English menu online.Hi IhorM,Thanks for your review.I'm glad that you enjoyed our specialities. As for the rabbit, Iâve to mention thatâs usually not cooked on the grill in our area.We prepare it stewed served with its sauce and polenta. The meat of the rabbit is however a fairly dry meat without fat and therefore we prefer to prepare it stewed. The grill is located at the end on our summer terrace and from there all the grilled meats arrive, taken care of our âchefâ.Ours is a typical place where we want to maintain its âtypicalityâ by leaving the menu in our Italian language. For translations we have our website and the staff can explain the menu in English, French, German for those who do not speak Italian.Best regardsPierluigi Olgiati

A hidden gem in the great village of Melide, right at the lake, with beautiful sunny terrace on the lake in the summer, and cozy and warm restaurant inside in the winter.Very friendly and caring personnel, the kind Irene, the bubbly Loris, the amazing chef René who is great with pasta, but also fish/seafood dishes and also meats...for food lovers, best combined with some great local wine.Pricing is very fair and on the cheaper side, especially compared to the restaurants you could find in Lugano, especially great price for the quality you get. They've got parking in front of the restaurant, and I would recommend for you to book in advance.Go there, try it and enjoy it, because you will definitely enjoy it and you will go back, like I/we do all the time.

This is the most intimate and romantic restaurant I've been to in a long time. The menu is totally in Italian and the waiters have the most rudimentary command of English. Here though, the food does the talking.Somehow, the chef seems to have been taken by foie gras. An entire page of the menu is dedicated to duckâs liver dishes and it features on quite a few of the main courses. Foie gras is of course utterly sublime and the fillet steak topped with pan fried foie gras was out of this world. My wife and I were totally blown away. If I could, I would dine here every day of the year.good morningmany thanks for your visite in our ristorante.we are very happy that you will enjoyed.best regards Bernard Fournier

Cantinetta Caprese born from the passion of its founder for the Catering and the authentic cuisine of fresh fish from the South. Variety of dishes to feast cooked respecting ancient recipes handed down from generations to bring to the table the true flavo
My family and I went for Easter to cantinetta caprese as i suggested we could enjoy some tasty food all together. We have been several times before and it was always very good. The place has a big room inside and an outdoor terrace which is great during the summer. We ordered some mussels as appetizer (they were plump and sauce lovely) and octopus with potatoes (good), then as mains we took lamb (as it was on the daily menu, good but a bit dry, i expected more), some pasta (amazing but slightly too much al dente) and a fish (very good). We took some dessers which were good but did not blow me away this time except for the caprese which is always tasty and soft.Overall a wonderful meal even though for the price we paid (very high) I would have expected more especially from the lamb.Service was friendly and the atmosphere nice too.

The location of the restaurant is on the main road on the way to Meride, in the Mendrisiotto region, Swityerland. Easy to reach by car with plenty of parking on the side. Bad if you are you using public transportation, it will be complicated to get there. The restaurant presents a very old internal décor, typical of the region, with tables and chairs made out of wood. The space internally is though limited, that is what you will surely notice. Thus, if you are searching for a place to have a romantic and quiet dinner, this is not the place for you, as having so many tables at such a close distance causes a lot of noise in the background. The menu is not very varied, but surely offers the main typical dishes of the region. However, I was a little so surprised as I noticed that I ordered an actual stick with polenta and meat on it, sort of a greek souvlaki but with polenta. I have never seen more unconventional Italian food in my life, or at least that way it was presented. Ok, maybe pineapple on pizza is worse. Food is average, and portions are abundant. Price however is high for what you order. But keep in mind that you are in CH and plus in a typical place so I was sort of expecting that. Staff is very friendly with a German lady who was serving us. Recommended depending on what you are looking for. Oh, one last downside: the location does not allow you to get the phone line, so in my case I could not have made any phone calls while being there.
