I used La Piazza to cater at a party for my Son's wedding. We had 35 people in Merrick at my Sisters house. Food was very good and delivery service on-time, helpful and efficient. Especially enjoyed Veal Marsala, Chicken Picata and Cannolis. Would use again for a large gathering.

We visited recently with a party of ten on a weekday for an early supper. We arrived ten minutes earlier than our reservation time and had to wait in the foyer while the waiter set our table. Unusual but no big deal. When they were serving our salads I asked for crushed pepper and was given a pepper shaker! Really. One of our guests asked for the same and the same waiter came over with a pepper grinder and took care of it. Again unusual but now kind of annoying. We then waited a very long time for our entrees. This was strange as it was only a party of 10 and it was before the dinner crowd and on a week night. My young niece was so hungry we asked for them to bring her entree before all of the others, which they did. By now we were very frustrated. A good waiter would have brought over some garlic bread or something else and apologized but not our waiter. After dessert we were all set to leave and our waiter was not available. A co-worker brought us the bill and told us he was on the phone. We were not told who he was speaking with but it must have been very important, maybe his recruiter? When he finally showed up I asked if we could use a promotion I had clipped wherein you get a $15 gift card if you spend over $65. Considering we had spent over $400 I thought it would not be a problem. The waiter said no and showed us the fine print on the promotion which excluded price fixe. While some of our meals were price fixe about half of the bill was not which included wine and appetizers. Sorry, but after the poor service we should have been given two gift cards. Anyway we will not be returning to Cara Mia. There are several good Italian restaurants nearby that value repeat customers.

Went on a Friday nite without reservations but next time will make them. By the time we (2 couples) left, the restaurant was packed. Arrived at 6PM for a Birthday celebration dinner with friends. We each ordered something different. Got to taste my husband' s entrée of eggplant parm with lots of vegetables and side dish of linguine with (had to be) homemade sauce. So glad we took leftovers home - just as good the next day for lunch. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli, topped with a basil creamy sauce and small shrimp. Very good but no accompanying salad, although the entrée itself was filling. Our friends ordered Chicken Parm and something LaStrada. They enjoyed their meal but didn't offer to share. Oh well! Neither did I! We each had a nice size wine glass of Chianti. Very good. Too full for dessert, maybe next time. Prices seemed reasonable but hey we didn't pay. Would definitely return and order something else scrumptious from their menu.

On a snowy night after a movie at the Bellmore Playhouse we fell into Matteoâs. I had not been there in Years because of a bad experience. The food and service were very good. Much higher than my expectations. I can now recommend this neighborhood Italian highly and I will return

Went Sunday early evening during restaurant week. Appetizer: fried artichokes. Sounded so good on the menu. Tasted really greasy and smelled like the oil was old. Salmon: I wish I had taken a picture to post. Dried out and left most of it on my plate. Waiter asked if I wanted to take it home. Told him no, and that it was way over cooked. At which point, he just cleared my plate. Not so much as an apology. This just wasn't my nite as the "grilled" vegetables tasted like shoe leather and also left uneaten on plate. However, the pumpkin cheesecake and coffee were both excellent. I would have given only one star but my husband did enjoy his mussels and his filet of sole was also very good. Place was extremely crowded and very loud. I felt sorry for the gentleman sitting at table next to us as the back of his chair kept getting bumped by the waiters passing by. Don't think we will be going back.

Villa d'Aqua 2565 Bellmore Avenue, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.South of Merrick Road, it is blended in almost looking like 'another private house' that happens to be nestled in a residential neighborhood on a cozy waterway inlet overlooking the inlet bay. Quite charming cozy fine dining eatery with very attentive wait staff offering you a wide-enough menu selection with lots of variety to satisfy your palate. Decent portions of tasty delicious dishes. Even has outdoor waterfront dining when seasonal weather permits.

We stopped by umbertos a few weeks ago before seeing a movie /sunday â¦.We had the pizza which was excellent ...We decided to come back the following week on Saturday for a formal dinner ..it was a disaster...When we arrived it was crowded and there was no-one to take your reservation..All the workers were busy attending to their tables ..Finally a fellow came over I think he was the owner..he kept shaking my hand..When we were seated we ordered a margarita pizza which came out after 8 minutes...but I had ordered off their takeout menu the manager told me the order would be no problem-veal/milenese which is fried veal with bruschetta, onions ,olive oil,and arugala salad @balsamic oil...It took them about 40-minutes to bring my dinner-out..However they forgot to include the toppings(bruschetta,onions,olive-oil,arugala on the veal..The manager by the way took the plate back and I could see him directing the chefs /rather young on how to complete this dinner..I should mention since it was busy the manager had been serving us and he kept shaking my hand and trying to explain when something wrong+but his English was not very good...The problem seemed to be that the chefs/owner didn't know their own menu..I will add that the margarita pizza was good although when the mgr ask my lady if she wanted parmesan cheese on her pizza she said no and he gave her extra parmesan....I would say if you go to umbertos in bellmore get the pizza but for a formal dinner be careful !!!! Ive been to umbertos in newhyde park which is a first cabin restaurant....The Bellmore manager didn't even apologize for the mistakes or offer a dessertor drink on the house..amazingâ¦...
