First visit for years and only the staff and menu have changed!Great venue for families where the youngest are always well received especially for birthday celebrations. The appalling weather meant only a few tables were taken,so no problem with the service, which was courteous, efficient and very tolerant of the indecision of the children making up their minds from such a wide choice.Hot mains were the order of the day for us - lasagne - nicely presented, with a taster of olives before hand. Then to finish, we had affogato. Nicely presented with separate small jugs of hot coffee to pour over the ice cream. £38 for two.All in all a pleasant experience.Tip. Choose Sunday lunches, be there by midday and there will less parking problems. Otherwise, go to the car park behind the White Hart on the opposite corner.

At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We donât do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. Weâre all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food.Only 15 minutes from the nearest train sta
Judging from previous reviews, this place can be a little âhit & missâ. Itâs been a long time since I visited any branch of Zizzi, but had always found it better than your average Italian chain restaurant. To be entirely honest, I came with my daughter and her 2 for 1 Meerkat offer, so everything was a bonus. The grilled garlic king prawns starter were among the best Iâve had in the UK, and the Arancini were also excellent. For mains we had the new Gamberone and Chorizo pizza, which was both very well seasoned and generous in size, and the Wild Boar Meatballs al Forno pasta, which was also excellently seasoned and generously portioned. We only managed to eat half, so the rest was happily doggy-bagged for us.Our servers were all very pleasant and professional, so we didnât seem to encounter any of the nightmare staff mentioned in the other reviews. However, I think we got lucky in that a family with uncontrolled kids was just departing as we took our seats: thereâs not really a lot that the staff can do about this (IMO) other than serve families like these quickly and deliver the bill ASAP.Iâd definitely return, and with the Meerkat offer it feels like a steal!

Waitresses were friendly but sadly the Manager was incredibly sullen. He came to take our order and barely looked at us and then stomped around like a teenager. I felt like I was at home!!! The food was average, nothing special but that would have been fine if the Manager hadnât let whatever seemed to be bothering spill in to his professionalism at work.

This is an adapted email I sent to the restaurant directly. Since I have had no reply, not even an acknowledgement, of my email, here it is as a review:-I was a guest at a leaving party for a colleague last Thursday. She held her dinner in the upstairs room at Enoteca. About 17 people attended. We were asked to provide pre-orders, which we did. I wanted to write directly, rather than leave a review on Trip Advisor, because I think people are quick to criticise publicly, and one should be given the right of reply privately. That said, I would be interested to know why the meal was so bad. We ordered cold platters, which were good, attractively served and arrived shortly after we sat down. No problems there. The main courses were, I think without exception, all unintentionally cold. I had the chicken saltimbocca. It was completely unseasoned, glutinous and tasteless, and there was no sauce at all, let alone the usual madeira-based one I expected. Those of my colleagues who also had it said the same. It had one tiny sage leaf on one piece of chicken and, rather than being wrapped in parma ham, it had tiny squares of ham sitting on top. Had it not been a company do, I would have sent it back (and I cannot remember the last time I did that). It goes on. The pork was apparently very fatty and tough. The cabbage was completely cold and watery. The only good thing about the main courses was the chips, which were excellent - crisp, brown and very hot. However, why not tell us when we ordered them that the mains were accompanied by huge piles of ?boiled potatoes which we didn't want? Five people had the fish, which arrived over 10 minutes after the rest of the main courses. I can't remember if anyone else had another choice of main, but I didn't hear one good word about them. As for the cheese plates, they arrived with pieces of cheese virtually minced, they were so small - why?I am sure the waiting staff tried their best. They were very pleasant and helpful (although didn't seem to know much about wine). The room is lovely, a really nice location. It is true that we were late sitting down, but that should not have impacted on the hot food, as the chef would not have started cooking (surely?) until we had sat down for the starters and, in any case, we repeatedly asked if they wanted us to sit down. There is no reason I can see why we had such a bad experience at our function, especially as we had given pre-orders. The lady whose leaving do it was, was very disappointed, and it was a real shame because it spoiled what should have been a lovely evening. I would be very interested to hear any comments.

We wanted to try the pizza as we had heard it was the best in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful and the menu looks good. Pizzas were great in terms of authenticity...thin, fresh dough, fresh ingredients and piping hot from thetraditional pizza oven. I must admit I was a bit disappointed that the Quattro Stagione was not in four separate sections as I have always had it before (including in Italy). I couldn't understand why all the ingredients were mixed and spread evenly across the pizza. Other than that, a very enjoyable meal.
