This restaurant is perfection. Enjoy a beautiful setting while you eat the best food in Italy. Delicious home cooked food that can't be beat. Relax on sun beds or go for a paddle boat ride on the beautiful lake. If you feel adventurous, go for a horse ride. This place has it all!

It's a great experience to eat in this restaurant. The boss himself speaks English. Taste the pastas they make themself at home or a nice pizza. We went there 5 times and every time was a wonderfull time with a lot of talking with the boss. When he can speak Italian then it goes better. As he is on the picture so you feel at home in the restaurant.

we came for a quick lunch. Very much a family owned place and therefore very casual with the kids arriving in from school and greeting mama then having their meal and television just off the restaurant. It was quite nice actually! We didn't have a proper meal just a snack of a good home made soup, one of us had a pasta which was ok rather than great. An interesting decor, at least five different shades of yellow and an off orange..........

We stayed at the enclosed B&B (named Gli Orti) and had dinner in the Restaurant. We found the Restaurand very good for food choice and quality. The ambience is also very nice. The village itself is surely worth a visit as it is still authentic. All and all an excellent choice for your lunch/dinner in the area

I was taken here by a group of italian colleagues while on a visit. The food was extremely good, and there was such a great variety of italian cuisine to sample from. We treated ourselves to several courses and the chef offered us a great wine selection as well some briliiant grappa to finish things off. Slightly on the pricier side, but worth it. Went during the summer, so the place wasn't as crowded

The restaurant is situated in a tiny charming village, just up on a hill. The ambience is cozy and romantic, perfect for a couple dinner. The owneers are very cool (Great Rosario!), they assist you on the perfect time, without being intrusive. Their suggestions were highly appreciated. I suggest to enjoy the starters, which can vary upon the day and availability (everything so tasteful). Main courses were also delicious, as well as the cakes. Local wine is pleasant...everything was perfect! Finally, don't miss a walk around the village (Scontrone), which made everything even more pleasant. absolutely suggested!

At 8.15 this back street pizzeria in the mountain town of Barrea was buzzing and we were glad to be found a table. The youthful staff were helpful and enthusiastic, the house wine was very reasonable and drinkable and then there was the pizza......... sadly I have had few excellent pizzas in Italy - too often the base is soggy or the toppings meagre but finally I found a pizza that I couldn't fault. Generous in size and toppings, crisp but not too friable - why can't all the pizzas I eat be as good as this???? A lovely shared dessert, two espressos and the bill was STILL only â¬25. What a bargain. If you are anywhere near Barrea please try this little gem out. As we left there were people queuing out of the door - so if there is a caveat - it is go early or expect a wait.

Albergo E Ristorante
We had a very nice lunch at La Poiana. The restaurant smartly has large windows providing stunning views of the lake and the town of Barrea. The grilled vegetables were an outstanding starter. The Gnocchi with cabbage and potato puree and the the walnut pesto pasta with local mushrooms were excellent. As advice, note that it can be very warm (even on this Autumn day) if your sitting directly in front of the large windows. A worthwhile visit on travels through the area.
