We have been in this restaurant during our family holiday stay and it has been terrifying. Out of 4 first dishes the waiter got 1 wrong. For this experience we opted for pizza as an easy option. Already for further guest's pizzas we noted that they were standing in front of the kitchen for a while, therefore, no surprise the dishes were completely cold. We returned them but there was not a single word of apologize. Additionally, quality very average. So: bad service, average cold food. A place as Schoppernau offers better options. Don't waste your time at this place!
Dinner over here looks nice and cizy but since the terrace was full, we sat down inside. Friendly staff, bit difficult to communicate since he was italian with limited german at his disposal. Pizza for me and kids was so so. Salmon of my wife was defrosted in microwave and grilled. The fries wete also not very tasty...

Arrived at Mellau late afternoon and went for dinner to this place. Spartanic wooden chains, almost minimalistic, but as it turns out very comfortable and cozy. The view onto the mountains is great, one can sit on the balcony too, there is lots of seating inside, just a few tables outside on balcony. Must reserve at busy times!Food was excellent, Pizza is freshly made, visibly inside the restaurant, stone oven pizza with wood-fire. Pasta are also very good and best was my Ceasar Salad with lots of Turkey meat tossed and grilled with Austrian Cheese. Hmm, very nice taste! I was so hungry that I had the Salad AND the Pizza. The Chef de Cuisine said to me "Its a lot!", but he did not know my appetite. I ate everything of it and even had pizza bread with garlic before, accompanied with some green olives. Service and Food is great, not to be missed when on vacation in this beautiful Austrian village.

Same owner as in Aplenhotel Mittagspittze - Ingo Maddlener
This restaurant is 'ski in/ski out' - positioned at the side of the ski slope just before the Uga ski lift. It gets a huge amount of traffic at lunch time and unfortunately the staff can't really cope - in fact they get quite ratty trying to deal with the crowds. If you can get a table the the pizzas are good when they arrive, but again be prepared to wait. There is extensive outdoor seating and this is a good option on a warm sunny day, but again be warned the food takes quite a while to arrive. My best tip - get there before 11.45 am and beat the rush. You'll get a table and your order in before the lunchtime crowds arrive.

Just what one needs after a hard days walk. Big and good pizzas and savoury pastas. Nice outside terrace and friendly staff.
