The RestaurantThere is a whole lot that is new here and a menu that also brings back the fine wine and cuisine of the area. There are some truly superlative dishes created using essentially simple combinations. The menu has both fish and meat for dishes t
This was supposed to be our âspecialâ night out in Argegno. It was more like Fawlty Towers. Staff were pretentious and condescending from the moment we arrived. One of our party is Italian and speaks the language well, but it wasnât good enough for the waiter who insisted we speak English. We were a party of four who eat out at a huge variety of restaurants at home in Australia and across the world. The view here is amazing, but no better than from the terrace of our accommodation, so that was not the reason for selecting this restaurant. We expected the food to be at least palatable but sadly it wasnât. A risotto dish only available for two and supposedly featuring zucchini flowers had not hint of any blossoms anywhere and came to the table as two seperate serves so why it was only available for two is mystifying. The rice was extremely undercooked and not at all the creamy texture expected from a well cooked risotto. Pasta entree of ravioli were tough and flavourless. Mains of steak - tough and over cooked, tempura fish full of bones and scales, pan fried lake fish over cooked and underwhelming. The chicken dish was acceptable, moist and tender - the only decent food served during the whole meal. When we went to pay the bill by credit card we were not able to pay at the table but were bluntly and loudly told we would have to go to the reception area of the hotel to finalise the account. Extremely lacklustre experience when there are so many better, friendlier and far cheaper dining options in Argegno. This restaurant is certainly not trading on repeat business. Overpriced and best avoided.

Very enjoyable evening for Dinner sitting on the terrace. Ezu our waiter was very accommodating and handled our large table with ease. He offered suggestions on food preparation and wine and we were very pleased with his service. While we stayed fairly conservative with our food selections, I did have the rabbit and found it a hearty and well prepared dish. All other pastas, salads, wine, and appitizers were quite good. I would definitely dine here again.

Local cuisine "missultin and "polenta uncia", own production pasta and desserts, grilled specialties, muschrooms, games. Wines and distillates selection. Garden and private parking.
This was a spectacular meal in a charming, friendly restaurant. The chef speaks English very well and she was delightful in helping us make our selections. She has a very sweet helper, maybe her mother?, who took wonderful care of us during our meal. She even offer to take our picture and showed us the garden on the way out. Of course, the most outstanding part of our visit was the food. Absolutely fabulous food. See my pics for a sampling of what you can expect. I wish we lived near this restaurant because it would easily become our favorite place.grazie da tutto lo staffe dallo Chef Bruna

They treat tourists like *h*t, because they know they don't come back anyway. We were first in the queue and two groups of Italian speakers came and were given table. We asked the only nice (young girl) worker why this happened, and forwarded the question. The reply was that those people had reservation. That was an obvious lie since the restaurant was full and that table just got free. After getting the table it took forever to be served. Finally we ordered the food, that felt promising. 10-15 minutes later the waitress came to tell that they ran out of the dishes we ordered. And it turned out pretty much all the dished they had for main dishes. So we had to order whatever random they had left.. This was half way of the lunch time...Food wasn't that good. Just normal. One of the first meals of the whole trip I would say.As a summary, AVOID.

The restaurant La Piazzetta is located in the heart of Argegno, and it is the result of the cohesion between tradition and innovation. Our chief aim is the satisfaction of our clientele. First and foremost, here you can find simple dishes, top-notch produ
My friend and I stopped in one evening while in Argegno for just a desert and coffee having been out that day touring Bellagio and already having a feast of a lunch. We were drawn into La Piazzeta by a gentleman who we observed throughout the hour we were there greeting visitors walking by hoping to use his charm to lure them into the establishment. We asked before hand if it was OK to just have a coffee and desert since we already had a large lunch and we were told that it would be fine. There were only a few tables occupied when we arrived. We were promptly seated outside hoping to people watch, but the large planters surrounding the outdoor seating area blocked the view of the small plaza. We proceeded to order a cuppachino, coffee americano, water and two tiramisu. PLEASE NOTE - this review is less about the quality of food served then it is about the value of what you get and their business practices. The rating of the tiramisu was a toss up...one person thought it OK the other person thought it tasted like it was a few days old. The real shocker came when the bill arrived.... 27 Euros !!! For so little food and drink I can only imagine what one would be paying for dinner !!! You better bring 100s of Euros if you donât want to end up washing dishes to pay off your debt. How can one justify a service charge of 6 Euros for two people to just sit down for basically a cup of coffee ??? Better to drive down to Como and sit out on the glorious roof top of the Como Hilton and enjoy the same, but better quality deserts , for less money along with AMAZING music and views.... and you can charge your bill !!!Thatâs right, adding insult to injury...we were informed that we could not charge the bill to our credit card because ..â the machine was brokenâ ..... please.... how old a line is this for establishments to avoid paying the small credit card fee. Why not just post a sign in front of your restaurant clearly saying.... CASH ONLY ? That way guests can decide whether to eat there BEFORE sitting down.Lastly.... I had to laugh when the bill arrived . Along with the bill there was a printed card in Italian ...which I was unable to translate but it had TripAdvisor in bold letters.....Iâm assuming it was a card encouraging guests to submit reviews ...the owner clearly understood the power of Trip Advisor in guiding customers in their dining decision. All I can say is.... look elsewhere if you seek quality dining with value pricing and service. Remember, reviews from customers who enter seeking just a coffee and desert should matter just as much as customers coming in for a three course meal.

Along the stillness of the river,in the old Argegno. The restaurant offers lake specialities, recipes from Piemonte and international cuisine.
The restaurant looks ok from outside but opens up nicely with pleasant decor and atmosphere inside. There wasn't a huge food choice, but enough for everyone. There were four of us two had the veal, and two had the duck. All four of us enjoyed our meals. We also had two bottles of water, two glasses of proseco, and two red wine between us. The total cost came to 108 euros which included a 3 euro service charge each.

Despite visiting Argegno often over many years, this was our first visit to the restaurant. It is set high on the hillside above Lake Como, with a terrific view. The restaurant is attractive, with pleasing ambience, and the welcome was friendly. The menu had several interesting variants of classic dishes - we greatly enjoyed a risotto with soft cheese and nettle ice cream, which worked well, and tagliata of beef - very tender good quality meat, cooked to perfection. The wine list was good. Service was excellent. And the price seemed very fair for the high quality.
