Reviews on Italian food in Arequipa, Arequipa Region, Peru. In Peru's second-most populous city, aka "The White City," stunning colonial buildings made of pearly sillar stone vie for attention with the surrounding volcanoes and snow-capped peaks of the western Andes. Founded in 1540, it's a smorgasbord of mansions and museums. The top attraction, 215,000-square-foot Santa Catalina Monastery, is like its own city within a city, complete with fountains and cobblestone streets. Arequipa is the favorite base for visiting Colca Canyon and its massive condors.

this small restaurant is located a couple of blocks from Plaza de Armas, on the main Jerusalen street. the entrance is not easy to find, just look for the board and go up a couple of steps. The daily lunch menu is very good (at 12.80 soles, aprox 4 $): a starter (if you ask for the paella, you'll barely be able to finish the plate), an entree (small but tasty), a small dessert (canned fruit salad, nothing special), and a "refresco" (fruit drink). If you go a la carte, the paella is ok (min 2 persons), as are the tapas (2 $ a piece). The restaurant is served by two giant elderly and kind Spaniards. The place is nothing special, it is like a family restaurant. If you are out for lunch, better pay a bit more than the usual menu price and get some solid spanish food.

I am not sure why so many people are complaining about the quality of the pizzas here. My friend and I came in on a night where there were only 2 tables and got good service, delicious thin pizzas straight out of the wood fire oven and great music. The waiter even struggled to try to break our 100 soles and talked to us about the different craft beers on hand. Lovely beers that we could not find elsewhere. Would definitely go back!

The food at this restaurant was great, reasonably priced and there was a good choice. However, this was overshadowed by bad service. Our waiter and other members of staff were less than friendly and didnât bring us our change when we had paid. We felt very uncomfortable all the way through dinner. We wonât be returning or recommending.

My family and I had a delicious, fun meal. The set meal was great value for money, every component from the wine to the bruchetta was delicious. Our pizzas had a light base with authentic italian flavours. My daughter said the test of a good pizza place is their Marinaria and they passed with flying colours! The owner was very hospitable and we appreciated the limoncella at the end of our meal. Don't be put off by the interior as the food is great!!!

Try the original taste of pizza-pasta. Freshly daily made food combined with extremely friendly hosts, makes Dobre's Restaurant your perfect food destination in Arequipa. Pizza, pasta, sweets, natural juices, coffee's, and more. Original taste from a Roma
For my final night on this trip to Arequipa, I had planned a big dinner of Arequipeñan fare, but unfortunately had seemed to have picked up a bout of food poisoning from somewhere. Joy of joys! So, deciding to keep things simple, we went for pizza, and this place seemed pleasant enough, and was close by. Run by a couple of Romanian guys, there's a good selection of pizzas, traditional and otherwise, as well as pastas, sanwhiches, and snacks. Quite a nice selection. The Dobre pizza was delicious, nice and fresh and Italian styled.Best of all, these guys have their own nano-brewery, making a tasty west coast American Pale Ale, full of hop flavour decent bitterness, well-balanced carbonation and malt, and bottle conditioned as all good nano-brews should be. I was the first person to review on Untappd too!The food was good, but it's the beer that gets this place the four stars! Nice work guys!

Thin crust pizzas Gay friendly We pay for the taxi ride ( tourists )
Overall a good place to eat with good service. Our experience just ended a bit sour when we realize how calculative the owner is. Be careful when mixing 2 pizza flavors, the owner will not hesitate to charge you full price of the more expensive flavor (difference was +$6). They also hesitated to accept credit cards. Delicious super thin crust pizzas! Full of ingredients of complementing flavors. Sorry if you felt that way but in all countries in the world is the way it is done. You always charge the highest price. also you asked for the most expensive pizza (the regular pizza is S/.45) 14 american dollars. About the credit cards is well known that those companies charge you between 5 and 7 porcent. so if you are an owner of a business is better for you if your clients pay in cash ( and I remember I told you this). Yes if you have a business you have to be calculative. regards

Missing Italian food? We all do at some point while traveling! We came here with high expectations as this restaurant is pricier than where we usually go as backpackers... but the food was worth every soles! Amazing pizza, best salmon fresh pastas, the owners is adorable, he offered us bruschetta and limoncello! True Italian food and real Italian atmosphere :) Definitely worth a visit (or two...)!

This may be a place you walk right by, until you see the chef out front street-side pounding on pizza dough! We had the four cheese pizza, which was delicious and a couple beers. Very reasonable with good service. Tiny place with cute decor. There was also a small area to sit outside.
