Nothing is worse than crappy Italian food abroad, that's why I usually avoid Italian food when I'm on holiday."Da Luca" is definitely an exception. The food is outstanding. His lasagne can be easily compared to the ones prepared by my grandma (biggest compliment I can pay to him).Beautiful home made bread, very generous portions.A bit expensive but totally worthy.

We ordered the 3 course tapas meal. The starters where nice: some cheese, some meat, there is something for everyone. Different taste. Mainframe course was also ok. But could have been a bit more. The deserts were excellent, could also have been a bit more. Wine was also nice. All in all good value for money. But..... all our clothes could go straight to the washing machine.... really smelly. That was a pity.

During the summer the place has been refurbished. The result is not too bad. however the kitchen keeps on producing average food. The food is not that tasty as you should expect from an Italian restaurant. Cheese on the pizza for instance seems to be fake. Not worth your well earned money.

A lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant outside of the city's downtown area. It's possible, as I found out when visiting this nice restaurant with a mate. Although the surroundings are less than appropriate for cozy Italian dining like you are used to when visiting a similar restaurant downtown, they made a real effort to have the restaurant appeal to whoever decides to drop by. The interior has plenty of space for groups.The restaurant is run by an authentic Italian family and, apart from them conversating in Italian in the bar and kitchen area all of the time, you can really tell by the excellent, more than delicious dishes they serve.The restaurant is slightly hard to find, or at least, it's not located where one would stroll by anyway, you really have to go there (or be living in the neighborhood and doing your shopping at the stores at the square.)When traveling by car, be cautious of the odd parking arrangements they have at this square! Study the signs posted carefully or ask inside for help!As far as Amersfoort is concerned, this is the best place I've tried so far regarding Italian cuisine. So come one, come all!

As soon as you step inside Pompei, the Italian culture can be seen all around you. The waiters are very polite and will recommend the best pizza's with a hint of humor. The food is great and will keep you wanting more. Service and food are certainly reasons for coming back!

Used to be a shop for paints, brushes, frames, etc. Now coffee, drinks & lunch, not sure about dinner. Exposed brick, open layout. 2 floors. Plenty of lunch options, had the smoked salmon, was very good.

Lovely staff/owner and fabulous food that's simple but bursting with great flavours. It's small but when the weather permits it there's a terrace outside with plenty of space. Location is very good, too.
