we went out on a summer evening and we could sit outside, which was lovely. The food is just amazing and they really make an effort with the decorations. Service was excellent and I can truly recommend this restaurant!!

On our last night in Hahnenklee we visited this little restaurant just near the church. And immediately we felt relaxed and welcome. One of our biggest mistakes was not visiting the first day we were there, so we could have enjoyed this little perl more than once. The food is EXCELLENT and it is served with so much warmth and courtesy. If the weather is warm, you can sit outside. However the restaurant is so charming inside, with perfect lighting and fitting music at just the right level. Try it! We promise you will not regret it.

We ate 3 times here. While the food wasn't the best Italian we have had, it was very good and the service was excellent. Each time were were greeted like friends and well looked after. There is an English menu which is worth asking for, although the specials are hand written and not in English. The staff manage to translate the specials (with enthusiasm) even though it is difficult as their English isn't great (but better than my German). I would highly recommend it - we went back for our anniversary meal there as it was such a friendly place to eat. Maybe a more formal meal would be a more obvious choice but we were made to feel special each time we visited.

Most Popular Steakhouse food in Altenau, Lower Saxony, Germany
Busy outside, yet we got a table. Pizza was excellent en crispy. Staff superb: very helpful, offering to slice my pizza as I was in plaster, and seeing a needy dog and offering water. Very attentive and kind.

Ended up going here twice during our two week stay just outside Clausthal-Zellerfeld. The first trip was us trying to find something other than schnitzel to eat, and the second time we couldn't wait to go back. The staff were friendly and above all efficient. They had a very slick two man operation constructing and cooking the pizzas to order in a proper stone oven. They took minutes, and were delicious. Highly recommended.
Where to eat European food in Altenau: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We stayed at the holiday park just across the road from this restaurant. We ate here twice and both times we had a lovely dinner. It takes a little while before the food is ready but it tasted really nice. Both pizza and meat dishes were lovely. Wine was also nice and prices are good too. 40 euro's for two adults and one child, was total proce for diner, drinks and desserts. Would eat here again when we are in the area.

Bistro
For decades, the best pizzeria in the Harz mountains. I can highly recommended almost all dishes on their menu. Their salads combined with the unique pizza bread are just excellent. The owners and their staff are super friendly and set high standards in terms of atmosphere and service. Pizza Plaza team - Thank you so much for your consistent great service. Looking forward to return ;)

The menu is like many of the restaurants in thuis part of the world: lots of schnitzels, deer and pork for very reasonable prices. But in the Parkhouse the Schnizels are very greasy and very salty. The portions are large, but not very good. The waiter is friendly, but someone should tell him that it is no longer considered a capitalist revisionist crime to use a deodorant.
