The food at Agriturismo Capalia is superb. In our experience, the meat is succulent and accompanied by juicy sauces and the vegetables are flavoured with herbs. In particular I would mention the tender weed that they pick from the herb garden that adds a
In the course of researching places to eat while staying in Cilento (Having dined at the fantastic Al Frantoio and wanting the same kind and quality of dining experience) I stumbled across Agriturismo Capalia on a blog talking about food in the area. There was no information as to the location of the place, only a phone number. I rang the number and arranged for us to meet with one of the owners at a service station on the main coast road just outside Acciaroli. He guided us up the hill to the agriturismo, which is located in a wonderfully lush and atmospheric valley above Acciaroli. We were seated outside and the whole family immediately introduced themselves. In the kitchen were the matriarch of the family and her daughter, with waiting and grilling duties being taken up by sons, daughters and grandchildren. From the first bite the food was simple, authentic and delicious. Everything being used was generated on the property, from the wine to the olive oil, from the cheese to the meat. We ate a type of wholemeal pizza bread I had never eaten before, which tasted amazing. All the pasta was made to order, all the salad fresh out of the garden, we saw it being picked. We saw the eggs being collected. This whole enterprise is operated with a deep love and understanding of the Cilentani way of life. A lot of the restaurants in this region create very nice, good tasting Italian food, but a lot of it can be had elsewhere for less money and of a higher quality. There is a preponderance of places claiming to make 'special' seafood dishes which, if you come from a seafood producing nation as I do, are really nothing to write home about. Places like Capalia are few and far between in the Cilento. Do yourself a favour and experience the culinary skills of a family born and bred in the region, who understand exactly what they are doing and are not out to make a quick buck. It cost us 50 Euros for 4 courses each, including a bottle of wine. Brilliant! Spread the word.

Acciaroli is the gem of Cilento, except for its restaurants which mostly left the path of local traditions to embrace a sort of posh modern-style."Al Sentiero" lays on the hills, a 10min drive from the beach, but you can't miss it. Its cuisine is firmly rooted in the centennial tradion of this area, it uses mostly ingredients from their organic farm, included the goats' milk turned into a special cheese. Among everything, don't miss its "antipasti", pasta dishes and the home made dessert. The cavatelli pasta (a sort of small local "gnocchi") is hand made daily, one by one...nowadays is a privilege to eat them! The "al sentiero" (whip cream and chocolate) cake is a godsend. Maybe coccoa is one the few ingredients not from the farm surrounding the restaurant.Expect no frills and don't rush, just sit down and eat as in a local family on sunday. At night, in the summer, the cool breeze makes this place even more enjoyable. This small restaurant is a landmark for its capacity of preserving traditions and the family-style.Its prices are absolutely low, every meal is great value deal.

The typical Italian cuisine with the best ingredients of the Mediterranean diet
This seems to be a place where people with yachts go. I had a wonderful pasta (seppia) and they offered fantastic desserts. One of the more expensive restaurants in town, considering that they charge 10 percent for service (servizio) and on top of that 2 euro per person for "coperto".

Well, to be honest some of us instead of wine drunk the local unfiltered, unpasteurized beer and were stunned by how good it was. No, this is not Belgium or Germany. Sit outside under the umbrella, watch the passersby while sipping wine and eating some of the local cheese and salami. Prices were very reasonable.

We couldn't do this place justice as we were short of time because we had to get to a train. The food is beautifully prepared and presented and the young woman whose place it is was very earnest and knowledgeable. She clearly loves food and knows the local produce. We had organic prosecco which was unexpectedly cloudy and tasted yummy. Definitely recommend you go here with more than an hour to spare!

This nice Restaurant is located a side street above the harbor. We were overwhelmed by the friendliness of the waiters. The courses are delightful and the seafood fresh from the day. We had a mixed antipasto and then a course with pasta. The meals were delightful. This is. Highly recommended!

We had lunch here during our visit to the lovely Acciaroli village. The place is minimal with focus on food to go but they also serve the few tables outside. The choice is quite large. My wife opted for grilled veal while I devoured most of the available vegetables. The ortolana and the zucchini scapece were delicious as also the alici maruzzella. The service was quick and very friendly. The price was a bargain considering the top quality of the food. Do not miss it!

La Ruota Braceria-Pizzeria è uno dei posti più ricercati per gustare un'ottima pizza a lievitazione naturale e/o la selezione delle migliori carni italiane e straniere, come Chianina IGP e Picanha Argentina ad esempio. Specializzati in Grandi Lievitati e
We visited again this summer (2015) and were delighted to find that the quality of the Pizzas remains unchanged - and excellent. You have to accept that the service is typically Italian - slow - and it is best to get there before 9.00pm and NOT when there is a local festa. That said, they serve the best pizzas in the area - which accounts for their popularity.
