Reviews on Irish food in Kenmare, Province of Munster, Ireland. The “little nest” of Kenmare is part of the famed Ring of Kerry, making it a prime stop for a spot of lunch and a pint. But before you go on your merry way, check out the area’s Bronze Age stone circle, one of the largest in southwest Ireland. The peaceful glens and streams of Gleninchaquin make a wonderful backdrop for a picnic, which you can work off on a walk along the Kenmare section of the Beara Way.

Visited this lovely restaurant on Friday evening last, no reservation but the manager was most welcoming and accommodating. Super choice of foods on the menu, the 4 of us each chose different dishes. Each dish was excellent, ribs, salmon, curry & pasta special. I would highly recommend this restaurant, excellent friendly service and superb food. We look forward to returning there soon.

Went on spec and was attended to quickly despite the place being busy.Classic Irish fare with a couple of Asian-fusion options.Staff very experienced and friendly and attentive. There were very good musicians playing Irish music in the middle of the restaurant and they were mellow and pleasant and played at a level that wasnât imposing. Fab Review ,delighted you had a great evening in Caseys , we continue to have music weekly ,then on Wednesday , we have Work Championship Irish dancers perform in the Restaurant , a must see if you are staying in Kenmare !Best Wishes Una Brennan

Great views along the waterfront from this bistro. Came for a late lunch after doing the âRingsâ and the food was worthwhile. We shared the artisan plate, which was well portioned, and the fish cake appetizer. Then we shared the chicken burger (not fried and not breaded), with chips. Very good food; excellent service. â¬60 included a glass of wine and beer. The patio on a non windy day, is lovely. Free wifi.

The Lime Tree is recognised as Kenmare's landmark restaurant. Housed in a beautiful building dating back to 1832, the food and service continues to win accolades and many new customers. The quality ingredients are sourced locally and then carefully prepar
We had the tastiest starters of a deconstructed prawn cocktail and spicy chicken wings; the seafood meals were delicious (though we were unaccustomed to seeing the pink part of the scallop) and the steak eater was very pleased with his meal. Dessert was heavenly! A bit pricey but well-worth the splurge. Though I'm sure it's quite gourmet, the "citrus fizz" on top of the salmon and scallops was off-putting. But everything tasted fantastic.

Itâs difficult to understand the few negative reviews here. Is it white tablecloths and pomp? No - rather Packieâs delivers excellent food inside a happy, friendly atmosphere. The two of us shared a duck leg confit as a starter; presentation was pretty and we agreed duck was prepared perfectly. My Dover sole on the bone could not have been better and my husbandâs John Dory was also very good. Highlight of the evening may have been the sticky toffee pudding - oh my! All the above choices are highly recommended.

If you are looking for a relaxed and cozy dinner, this is the place for you. We were there on a Sunday night, so it was very busy. We sat upstairs surrounded by a warm and cozy room. The food was very, very good. I had the tomato soup and pork collar....a cut I was unfamiliar with. The pork collar is slowly braised and served with root vegetables. My husband had the beef cheeks, also slowly braised. Both were very good. No desserts.Service was warm and friendly.Thank you for you kind review ,our pork is from Rare Breed Organic Pigs we breed on our farm 2 km from the restaurant .The Pork collar recently won Gold at the Blas na Heireann Irish Food Awards Best RegardsDermot Brennan

We were happy to get a reservation at this delightful, truly gourmet restaurant. I started with Hanleyâs black pudding, not something that would usually attract me but it was delicious. My husband had the quartet of crostini and raved after every bite. He followed with the potato gnocchi while I had the supreme of chicken and we both were delighted. Dessert was equally wonderful...The only blip might have been that we asked for tea and were left to pour our own cups from a very full exceedingly hot teapot that was hard to handle. But otherwise a lovely evening.
