Templars Inn is an historic pub restaurant in the scenic area of Hook Head in Co. Wexford. Specialising in fresh seafood dishes, we offer panoramic sea views while you tuck into our famous seafood chowder or locally caught crab claws.
Picture the scene. Itâs a gloriously sunny day in September. You have visited the Hook lighthouse, taken a stroll along the beach and now itâs time for lunch. Bowling along the country lanes you come across The Templarâs Inn. Result and there is even room in the car park. You sit on the wooden terrace, sipping a glass of rose until the waiter presents you with a platter of food that would t blush in the finest French restaurant. Sublime. And it was cheap as chips. I think I must have imagined it.

We know the area well and can state quite positively that this is the best restaurant for miles. Top end cuisine cooked to perfection. Generous portions and very reasonable prices. Staff are brilliant. Miss at you peril !!

Hook Lighthouse, the oldest operational lighthouse in the world. 800 Years of lighthouse keeping. The Visitor center at Hook Lighthouse offers guided tours of the lighthouse tower, a 13th Century Norman structure, built by William Marshal, the Earl of Pem
What a great afternoon for the kids and ourselves, plenty of playtime, either playing on the pirate play area, looking in rock pools, looking for fossils or hiking out to the headland, just great. Thats not including the brilliant tour of the lighthouse itself. But the seafood chowder and the chickpea curry were great value and so delicious. Great for a family day out and good homemade food.

The Haven Hotel is a truly unique venue and we are dedicated to making your time with us special. Set in stunning surroundings in the heart of the beautiful fishing village of Dunmore East, in the Sunny South East we like to think we have something for ev
Myself, husband & kids were the Haven on a midweek evening. we were looking forward to a lovely meal. Had a drink outside before we ate..When we went back inside for dinner we were told by the waitress that only residents & bookings were being served food!!!!! Since when do customers have to book for bar food????? That has never been the way in the many many years I've been a customer!!!! Quite off putting if I'm honest. Thank you for your review. As I'm sure you understand this is the busiest time of the year in Dunmore East and, on Tuesday night, the hotel was full of residents who had all booked tables to eat here. We were also exceptionally busy with customers who had also prebooked to eat. To ensure speed of service, and the quality of our food, we took the decision to not take any more food orders. Unfortunately this didn't help you and your family. We really hope, that after years of your custom, this hasn't put you off coming back. Please just give us a quick call before you come, on 051 383 150, and we'll make sure we have a table for you.

A lovely late morning breakfast in late August during the Bluegrass festival - sun was shining and people starting massing at the outdoor venue at the Strand Inn for the lunchtime session. Simple breakfast/brunch served by folks at the Strand Inn - good tea, toast and scones for grandmother and kids; good eggs, bacon and sausages for me - hearty food after a nice dip in the sea beforehand! Highly recommend grabbing a table outside the Strand Inn and getting some of their food or just drinks. Pleasant and friendly staff and always something to watch going by in Dunmore East.

Booked a table for 8 for Sept 28thWas emailed by owner to see if we still wanted the table as there was a 40th birthday due to be out in beer garden but due to bad weather it would be inside.I said fine still wanted the booking.Little did i know that our table would be practically surrounded by the 40th.They were hanging their coats on the backs of our chairs, our party included 4 children. My husband complained to our waitress & asked to speak to the manager. The waitress came back to us & said that the manager said he had emailed me to say there was a 40th birthday party....My husband then asked if the manager/owner could come over in person. He did come over sweating & very defensive, extremely rude & wanted to know what we wanted... all we wanted was an apology but that didn't happenFood was over priced & average... staff were lovely, owner was extremely rude....Hi , thank you for your promised review , it always amazes me how vindictive people can be .However here is my right of reply :You were advised in advance of large party. And it was explained that we had to relocate this party from our beer garden because of bad weather .Our supervisor Debbie apologised to you more than once , when you table was checked you stated all was great .Yes you asked to see me and I came over to you within minutes , I asked after apologising again what I could do to make you happy .Regarding your personal comment that I was sweating , well it was a Saturday night in a busy bar and I work hard : thatâs all I say about that .Your husband stood up beside me at the table which is very unusual and did his best to belittle me , as if he was trying hard to hold court .We offered you and guests a complementary drink to express out apology, which you laughed at . On a separate note , after you left , the table of 6 sitting beside you made it their business to see me before leaving to express their empathy toward me as a result of what they witnessed, I will not mention publicly what they called you !Sorry again if we failed you , but everyone else had a great night ...RegardsNiall
