Not what we expected based on awards and reviews. All of the food was bland and uninspiring. At best the standard was second rate "bar food". Overall very very let down particularly as we were entertaining guests. Staff were pleasant but the chef who was responsible for preparing our food should be retrained. Prices were at least 25% too high for what was offered. Will not return.

After reviewing Sweeneys on trip advisor myself and my Husband decided to try this place and have lunch,so glad we did it was a lovely place, food was fabulous and the staff where warm and friendly, very good price two course lunch for 15 euro which was excellent and the chips were home cut chips which you don't see very often when you eat out. Will definitely be going back againThanks so much for your lovely review Diane, we really appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back soon (and serving up some more of our freshly cut chips :) )

With only one option available for non meat-eaters, I was forced to order the pumpkin tagine. When i arrived it was luke warm, not very well spiced and was served with cheap white rice, not cous cous as you would expect for a Morroccan tagine. Not great at all. My partner had sea-food chowder and he seemed to like it but he has had better. It's a shame the food isn't good, as I think the place might attract more custom. The views are beautiful, so a lot more could be done here to make it a go-to venue.

It's a small bakery cum restaurant in the town of Blessington whioch does a fantastic irish breakfast at shockingly low prices after a weekend in Dublin.
This place made a favorable impression. Food was all very good. Some in the group ordered breakfast, some lunch. All were pleased with their meals. The Irish breakfast looked great, I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich that came with a small salad and some cole slaw served open faced on fresh brown bread. It was very good. Service was good in spite of the place being completely full. Would not hesitate to visit again. A simple and unassuming cafe that serves good food.

This is a very cosy cafe in fantastic surroundings. There is a wonderful selection of cakes, pastries and lunch options, but most of all, the staff always offer a warm and friendly welcome. The coffee is great and perfect before or after a walk in the beautiful botanic gardens on the doorstep.

It is awful sitting in a cafe eating a meal while staff are sweeping the floor and spraying chemicals on tables around you. It's equally as bad, watching staff using gloves to make sandwiches, using the same gloves to wipe the counters etc.

Crafternoon Tea provides an oasis of elegance in old world style. Relax in the midst of floral table linens, decorative wallpaper and fine china. Indulge in afternoon tea served on china three tier stands and if afternoon tea is not for you try our coffee
It was pouring with rain and we were driving through Blessington looking for somewhere to eat. There was a space right outside the café. Perfect.Nice welcome and decent food. I had the Blessington Special minus the bacon (vegetarian) and it was very tasty. Word of warning if you order tea, its real leaf tea so you need to remember to ask for a strainer. I wasn't given one and had slightly chewy tea! I also had a very nice apple based desert.Nice clean toilets too. Thanks Phil for your review. Iâm glad we could offer some respite from the rain. The loose leaf tea is lovely but I do apologize that you didnât get a strainer. The dessert was baked on site by our baker Mags so sheâll be very pleased that you enjoyed it. I am delighted that you felt welcomed as the girls try very hard to make sure everyone is week looked after.
