We decided to have breakfast here due to the big sign! We decided to have a Sri Lankan breakfast and the Western breakfast each costing 550rs (£2.71). The taste of the breakfast was delicious and the service was top notch! Please try this place when in Tangalle Beach!

Incredibly bad and slow service! We arrived and were greeted by no one. There was a group of five and us three and it took for ages for us to get the menu. After that it took for nearly an hour for us to get our meals! Waiter didnât seem to understand me who spoke English, so the Sinhalese people in my group had to translate for him. When we asked to order cocktails, the waiter said itâs not possible because he cannot make them - WHAT?! Food was basic and not great in any way. Sweet and sour chicken was just overly fried chicken with tons of pepper - not even any sauce. The location on the beach is wonderful and the restaurant is nice looking and they have great swings on the beach. Wouldnât recommend this place for anyone. Can get better food for the same price (or cheaper) elsewhere.

Deshanâs street sign on the road to Goyambokka Beach advertises rooms and restaurant. We did not stay here, but stopped in for dinner on the recommendation of others staying at our guest house, Calm Garden Cabanas, nearby. The food was delicious, the beer was cold, and the service was friendly and responsive. We returned a couple of times, and enjoyed each meal very much. Highly recommended. Ivan & Linda, Canada

Great place to go for a quick eat or a nice reasonably priced meal. We had a macaroni cheese (750 LKR) and a Spaghetti Neapolitan (800 LKR). It was really tasty. The waiter we had (Dilshan) was helpful, chatty, and friendly. If you get him, he will treat you well!Thanks :)

This restaurant served the best fish in Sri Lanka. The food was delicious. We went everyday during our stay in Tangalle. The owners were so appreciative that they gave us a free dessert on our final day which was a nice touch. This is definately value for money. They also offer tours to some of the sites which again was good value for money. The staff were friendly and reliable.

Having spent a week at Buckingham Place, we naturally dined at Oceanfront on several occasions. I have nothing but the highest praise for the friendly engaging staff, superb ambience and atmosphere (morning, noon and night!) and, of course, the absolutely amazing local and international dishes that we enjoyed. The food was absolutely sublime - especially the Sri Lankan curries and seared tuna (which we saw delivered fresh from the boat the morning of the day we had it!). I am very particular when ordering my food and was therefore impressed with the flexibility of the Chef and the kitchen crew and the way they were able to adapt so readily to my requests.The owner, Mr Nick, is an excellent host who engages with his customers and watches over his staff in an utterly unobtrusive way, which lends totally to the wholly relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that makes such a wonderful dining experience.We'll be back!Thrilled! Thank you for coming to stay and for being fabulous guests, it was a pleasure and privilege to host you.
