Things to do in Taicang
Visited friends in Taicang. They took me to this little restaurant restaurant & bar.Has a good selection of beers & food. Can have Steak or German potato salad and schnitzel or Chinese dishes. Can satisfy all tastes with good serving size and reasonable prices.Popular with foreigners.
Great bar / restaurant with a good selection of tasty dishes large and small - many German beers on offer - Events: Western buffet, birthday parties, cocktail parties and company events.
Weird decor even for China. Very expensive and did not taste grate. Service is poor, my food was done but the waiters where too busy to give it to me. They have one pizza they put raw eggs on top off. Go to Dosa or down by the other foreigner restaurants.Ordered chicken wings still had some feather bits on them but tasted good.
A mansion setback from Julu Lu is the setting for this fine dining restaurant with a traditional Italian menu. The hostess and wait staff were all English speaking and as friendly as can be. The pastas and pizzas are under 100 RMB, while main entrees are around 125-150 RMB. The Minestrone soup with no pasta added was chock full of vegetables. Excellent. The pastas were nicely spiced and good. A selection of fresh breads was served with butter, olive oil and Balsamic vinegar. The I-MIX features a wide selection of wines. We had green tea which turned out to be Lipton tea bags in a nice-sized tea pot. Seating is either outdoors on an open wooden deck in temperate weather or in the front of the mansion's first floor. The ambiance was strictly continental, and a refreshing change from most Shanghai restaurants. If you are hungry for some old-style Italian cuisine, by all means try the I-MIX. Centrally located in the Jing'an Temple district, it was well worth the 20 RMB (US$3) taxi ride. After dining in Shanghai for several days with some typically lackluster Shanghai restaurant attitudes, it was so pleasant to feel welcome as a guest.
The latest addition to its special restaurant and bar, we provide not only western fashion cuisine but also a selection of wine accompanied by the Philippine band. With fashion interiors, great food and glamorous wine, Ciao Bar is set to be your fantastic
An incredibly nice bar, quiet most nights even with live entertainment. Super chic, friendly staff as you would expect from the Lamborghini brand.
