The food here is lovely and excellent value. The music made the atmosphere a bit oppressive after a while but it was a lovely place to come for a meal with a big group of friends.

Was in Szeged last week for a short 2 nights stay. On our last night, I had Dinner in the Tisza Café and Restaurant with my husband. High quality food at reasonable prices. Very attentive staff, everybody was so kind and the service was near to perfect. Great views on the Tisza river. For sure we recommande to everyone this restaurant.Dear Kinga, many thanks for your positive review and it is great you have found everything to your satisfaction. Special thanks for mentioning kindness of our staff and the unique view to the Tisza. See you soon, Andrea Kurai

We went there with the family to try the daily menu. The place tries to be cool, the music (from youtube) is very loud, staff is ok, but they are not professionals. Parking is good near to the entrance. Soup was good, and the meals were ok too. My coffee was tasty.

I was recently at Szeged on business, and one of our local contacts recomended this place for lunch. Well, it was great experience. The waiters/waitresses were very nice, helpful and knowledgeble when we asked for recommendation. The lunch menu was very diverse, with some heavy and some healthy choices also present. The food was very enjoyable, and while I did not try the soups (only main course and dessert) I would recommend this place to anyone based on this alone. At last, but not at least, the price was an absolute bargain. 1400 HUF (c.a. 4,5 â¬) for 2 courses 1600 HUF (c.a. 5,25) for 3. Oh, and the free lemonades were a very nice, and unexpected surprise.
Modern europian restaurant in the heart of Szeged. Traditional hungarian kitchen with french motions and feelings. Family business with heart and soul and low prizes.
Place is run by father&son, which positively shows everywhere. You can feel, that they own the place and have a very clear concept how to do it. The menu is a very tasteful and creative mixture of local/european cuisine. Some of them even has a little asian twist. The portions are just fine. The chef (father) is happy to come out for a little chat, while the son is running the show with grace at the customer area. The interior is simple, comfortable. We instantly fell in love with the place and I recommend it to everyone who spends some time in the city.

good quality Hungarian food in huge portions at very low prices.Tasty soups, good fried fish, nicely presented. The portions were that huge that even locals (there are not many tourists who can find this hidden place...) had to ask for doggy bags. Good service. Only one, for me pricey mistake: When paying with my credit card, the waiter asked me, if I wanted to pay in Forint or Euro. I clearly went for Forint, because I can get a better exchange rate this way. Unfortunately, the waiter issued the payment in Euro, nevertheless... If you pay cash, you will fully enjoy this nice restaurant.

Food was great - we had a steak (greatly executed) and turkey with mushrooms (simple but very tasty). Quite generous portions, we could barely finish them. The service was friendly, however they speak very little English and German (no other language but Hungarian), so it was quite hard to communicate. Just one guy knew a bit more but he was not in charge of our table. The kitchen was quite slow. Ambience inside nothing special, but they have very nice terrace. All in all, we would go back.

We visited this place yesterday with our family. My wife and I are from Budapest, and we love the gastronomic variety and quality the capital can offer. We were pleasantly surprised by this place! The shrimps were of great quality, the jamon Serrano was outstanding, the French fries were made of fresh potato (super delicious!) but the most astonishing part of the dinner was the dessert. This creme brule is the best I have ever had! Amazing!

every month or so we drive through Szeged and it was always a problem finding a good place to have lunch. We are after our third visit and we will be back. The place is in an excellent location, a few minutes walk from downtown, on a street with a fair few restaurants. Nice interior and also a very nice terrace. In the summer I can only suggest outside seating, of course. Sports are broadcasted on the inside television sets, nice atmosphere for watching some major event in a group. The food is of a solid good to excellent, big enough servings, drinks as expected with a sports bar, the beers, the wines, the strong ones are all there. I particularly appreciated the service. The mineral water comes with lemon, without asking. Bottled beers come with fresh glasses every time - this is a particular favourite of mine, I hate pouring new beer in a used glass... In conclusion, if in Szeged, this is the place to go. Cheers!
