I chose this restaurant because according to TA it was child friendly. Well it wasn't. The food was good and the place was really nice. The only thing I missed was a friendly service. During the 7 months I've lived in Nice, I have never received such unfriendly service anywhere in France. It already started when I arrived to the restaurant 40 minutes earlier and the restaurant is in the middle of nowhere. Worried that it might rain, I asked if I could wait inside, she told me that restaurant was closed but after a consideration did let me in. We had 3 children and it was really strict what they were allowed to do, this I also understand, but you can say things in a friendly manner also? The menu was only in French and the service was in French, which is ok for us, but maybe good to know if you choose this place. Unfortunately one child turned sick and we felt total lack of empathy, it was eyes rolling and annoyance rather than a single time asking a simply çava. This makes me sad, because it really doesn't cost anything to be human and show some empathy. It certainly helps if you work in services business.

A year ago we visited the Comme Chez Soi with our little dog and were absolutely enthusiastic about the super friendly and kind service from Rita and the excellent food from Hugo. At the end of our visit Rita begged us to give a great rating in TripAdvisor to become the #1 restaurant in Vence. On one side this request felt a bit strange to us and it was the very first time we were asked to do this. But then we thought why not help the couple, registered at TripAdvisor and indeed gave a 5 star rating for a truly excellent experience. Now coming back to Vence again this year we made a reservation long time in advance and were really looking forward to another nice dinner. When showing up that evening with our same little friendly dog - both, Rita and Hugo told us arrogantly that dogs are not allowed. When we told them that last year this was no issue at all they couldnât care less and still insisted. When checking the webpage afterwards no word that dogs are not allowed. Given in France and Germany dogs usually are allowed even in high class restaurants Rita and Hugo need to let people know in advance if all of a sudden they donât accept dogs anymore. So a clear change in behavior and attitude to the negative vs. last year now that Rita and Hugo accomplished their goal to rank #1 in Vence.
