An authentic Spanish experience located at Clift's-Baird's Cove, within the heart of Downtown St. John's. Boca, the Spanish word for mouth, encourages you to use our namesake to taste, drink, and smile.
This restaurant is a nice place to go fo a private meal. The entrance takes you down to dim seating area with very Spanish decorations. The staff was very friendly and helpful in describing the wines. You could tell she had a real appreciation for certain ones. We enjoyed a chicken paella. It came with an orange slice to give it another dynamic. The vegetables in the rice were crispy. It was a warm meal and quite filling at the end of our food tour. Definitely a delight for the taste buds.

Sometimes one dish is so amazing that even great dishes are diminished in comparison. The pasta special the night we visited was lobster fettuccine--it was one of the best pasta dishes i've ever enjoyed and made the superb halibut dish my partner chose pale in comparison. The pasta sauce was delicate and smooth, yet rich in flavour--no heaviness or excess creaminess. It was perfectly seasoned and there were generous lobster pieces and vegetables all of which were perfectly cooked. The pasta was still hot at the last bite--a rare experience. They were busy--and staff were very concerned that we didn't expect our service to be too quick. In fact it was relatively well-paced and absolutely nothing to complain about. I called the lobster fettuccine a life-experience right after I finished and upon reflection, I still feel that way.

Small, well-designed restaurant. Great choice of wine. Very good house wine on offer, however they missed the food order. When we inquired after 50 minutes, they checked on the food, then proceeded to miss one of the entrees, creating further delay and then one of the two entrees was cold, so inedible and was left untouched. They did not inquire about how the food was and did not offer to take the entree of the bill.

Not so good sorry...average at best Right on Water Street, connected to a hotel...it looked good from the outside but was average at best. We had the crab cakes, the brie and bacon sandwich and the avocado burger...everything was dry, i wouldn't go back. Check out St. John's Fish Exchange...just down the street.
