I was looking for a Restaurant or Bistro in Solingen-Ohligs within the inner city limits where I could have a business meeting with the chance to get something to eat and with the availability of a free high speed internet access.I was stunned when I walked into the bistro with its lavish space arrangement and the modern and pleasant interior design and decoration. We had a quick meal and I really enjoyed the best hamburger of my life which was freshly prepared by the cook and which was filled with fresh veggies, a house burger dressing and a juicy and very succulent and well grilled large beef patty. After the meal we enjoyed the proprietary house coffee (barista style) and connected to the free high speed wireless internet. We were very pleased by the friendly service of the waitress and want to return here to enjoy the large variety of food and drinks.

We had been walking in the nearby woods on a lovely Sunday afternoon and we were all in desperate need of a coffee when we walked back to where we had parked the car in the little hamlet of Höhrath. The Kartoffel-Kiste looked inviting. We decided to sit outside on the terrace and the one waiter there eventually took our order. Two of us went for the advertised iced coffee. This took forever to arrive and when it did we were amused to see that it was an normal warm, milky coffee served in a glass with an ice cream and heaps of whipped cream slapped on top. Oh well. We then fancied a little bite to eat - an afternoon piece of cake or something. However the no nonsense waiter informed us that they only had apple strudel or waffles with hot cherries. So we ordered two of one and one of the other. I can confirm that the apple strudel with ice cream and whipped cream was delicious - we were pretty sure that it was homemade. On realising that I was English the waiter did stop for a brief chat about Brexit etc. and showed a more talkative side of himself. For us the whole experience was nice break from the walking around on this lovely sunny day.

"Breakfast, midday, evening, always." Everybody is welcome at any time at the ALEX Solingen. Next time you visit the Clemensgalerie, stop by and indulge your heart's desire. The ALEX in Solingen has warm food on offer right up until closing time.
I had the pleasure to eat two of the best nurgers in a while. First the Alexburger and the second day the BBQ burger if I remember well. They were delicious. You can choose from four tipes of fries and all is abouy 11-12 euros. They also have some good special kinds of beer. Very crowded so I guess is better if you'll make a reservation. Hi Cristi, thank you so much for your nice review and that you liked our place and the burger. We'll look forward to welcome you back again.Your ALEX Team

Lovely new restaurant overlooking fields and valley - superb! We ventured off the main trail to this restaurant due to a family name connection. To be honest, I was expecting something older, but pleasantly surprised. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and on such a fantastic day we sat outside overlooking the fields. Food was superb (I had the Pffaffenberger of course) while the mrs had fish. A couple of glasses of wine & beer, while our son played on the kids playground they have made for a fantastic Tuesday afternoon. Afterwards a walk through the adjacent woods to cap it all off.

Monthly changing menu, fish and seafood typically with a slightly unexpected touch. Always very fresh from their own next door seefood shop.Wines served by the glas and "mini deserts" allow for full indulgence without full calories.Unassuming, contemporary tasteful dining room with competent and extremely charming service.
