Find out what International restaurants to try in San Salvador. El Salvador's capital, San Salvador, is a modern city of wide boulevards and narrow streets, outdoor markets, government buildings, high-rises, monuments, an exuberant nightlife, museums and other cultural institutions. And all set against the backdrop of San Salvador volcano. The city is surrounded by shantytowns as well as affluent suburbs with restaurants and large shopping malls. Peaceful settings such as the botanic garden of Parque Cuscutlan provide a break from the city's hectic pace.

We took a trip up to el Boqueron National Park and decided to have lunch here on our way down. The setting on the mountainside is lush and we were happily surprised by the plant nursery at the front of the property. This much more than a restaurant. A small museum is set up in the main house along with the original clay ovens used to roast coffee. There were stems of birds-of-paradise flowers everywhere and there are rooms which can be used for private meetings and parties. There's a gorgeous fountain in the center courtyard. As the day was somewhat cloudy and cool on the mountain, we had soup. The chicken soup was hearty and full of chicken and vegetables. The shrimp soup was thoroughly flavourful with big portions of shrimp and sweet green leafy vegetables in a tomato base. Our meals were accompanied by tortillas and nachos as well as thick hot chocolate which was perfect as we looked out over the San Salvador valley. We ended with excellent coffee from the plantation. We picked up 2 lbs to take home! The price was great-3 people lunch with apps and dessert-under 25$ including tip. Note that they add a 10% tip automatically to the bill but we had such a great experience that we wanted to leave a little bit more-the service was attentive and friendly. Plenty of photo ops with the luxury of taking your time to set up. We will be back to try their dinner menu on our next visit.

I go here every week since I tried it. I tried it in Multiplaza for the first time and then tried it here. Absolutely delicious. It is gluten free, low fat and sugar and has the good stuff in yogurt. The fruit is fresh and the toppings are different from other places I tried before and very good quality. I had the watermelon Sensaciones Plus but if you like fresh fruit I recommend the Sanum Plus.

We have been here for dinner and drinks several times now. Cozy environment with soft music, outside space with green roof and candle light. Good for couples as well as for groups of friends. The menu is varied with a choice of appetizers, soups, main courses and even sushi. I liked the hummus as a starter and a perfectly cooked salmon. On another occasion I tried the desserts and enjoyed a detailed explanation from the waiter.Good choice of wines, prosecco by the glass which is very rare to find in El Salvador and large selection of imported beers. Overall a must try.

This is my all time favorite healthy-ish dessert. There's only one flavor of frozen yogurt but there are many types of topping that go from fruits to delicious sweet sauces. The sizes are fair and help you maintain portions if you are on a diet. Service is good and the place is small but nice.

2243 6706This is WONDERFUL resturant that I always take American clients to when they are in town. They are one of the best in San Salvador and are located in the same building as the Museum MARTA but operates different hours and open to the public.
This restaurant is tucked away in the Museum of Art, but it is a jewel to be discovered by foodies. The atmosphere is white table cloth, and quiet. It seems like people only learn about Punto via word of mouth. The service is excellent, and the food was a delight. I have been here twice in three days, it is so good. Try the grilled octapus or the cappachio with avocado, tomatoes and grilled brie-delicious. I also had a pasta with wild mushrooms is white sauce, just devine. The wine selection is extensive. It is located close to the Sheraton Presidente.

We visited The Green House with friends who live in San Salvador and recommended it highly. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is refreshing in the city. There are plants, beautiful lighting, and they grow many of their own herbs and vegetables. Service was very good. The blended drinks were delicious, and my shrimp pasta was also wonderful. It's an eco-friendly restaurant with great atmosphere and food. There's even a play area for children.

For my birthday, my Mom and one of her friends decided on taking me to A Fuego Lento. I had never heard of the place, but I decided to let them take me to discover a new spot on the map. And, boy, this was a pleasant surprise. The signature dish is Paella Valenciana, a Spanish delicacy, and let me tell you it is good (not excellent, but good). My choice was Paella Mixta (rice with seafood and pork and chicken meat, among other ingredients) and it was the right one. Value is excellent when you take into account that for $9.95 you get an entree (salad), the main dish (a regular-to-big Paella), and a small dessert (a small piece of vainilla ice cream). In addition, my drink choice was a "fresco de ensalada" (juice with a variety of chopped fruits). The place was clean, we got exactly what we ordered, service speed was incredibly fast (the food was ready in less than 10 minutes). The only sour spot is the atmosphere: in a Spanish-food restaurant, you expect a Spaniard-type decoration plus music from the peninsula. We found none of these: the house where the restaurant is located is very plain and the music playing was standard American pop fare, plus an interlude of live marimba music. All in all, a surprising place where I would visit again to savor the Paella once more.

Well located, at the heart of San Benito neighbourhood, San Salvador, the "La Gastroteca" restaurant was a very nice surprise: small restaurant, part of Clarion Suites, in front of a very busy boulevard, offering a nice terrace and cosy interior. The best of it, its amazing food. It has an International menu based on creative and delicious dishes with elegant presentation. Though a bit pricey, it's worth it.Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience at our establishment. We are glad you enjoyed the food and service, and hope to welcome you back in the near future. Regards,F.A.
