Things to do in San Ignacio
we would love to give San Ignacio a healthier option to their smoothies, frozen yogurt, Juices and coffee drinks. Come enjoy our breakfast bagels and scenary. We are located at the welcome center in San ignacio where you can sit and relax in air condition
Love this little juice bar/deli in the centre of San Ignacio. It's obviously for tourists. Kale, chia seeds, avocado, spinach... never ending green goodness blended into smoothies and juices. Frozen yoghurt. But hell does Belize need it. As a slave to the health foods craze, I was getting pretty sick of eating meat with rice and beans in Belize. You can get a delicious smoothie for 7BZ here (3.50 USD or £3.20 GBP - much cheaper than at home). They also have a range of milks on offer (I got mine made with almond milk). The staff are friendly, the AC is heaven, it's a crowd pleaser (although the place is tiny, so the crowds will need to disperse as soon as they have had their Vitamin hit). Keep up the good work. I wish I'd discovered you sooner.

We stopped in for dinner, very excited for some Indian food & left after one round of drinks & appetizers. The rum punches were very weak, the samosas were completely flavorless and the papadums tasted like old burnt oil. There were none of the standard Indian condiments, just a thin tamarind sauce. Needless to say we did not stay for dinner.

We loved the traditional Mayan Dinner. it was absolutely delicious!. the ingredients were all fresh and very well prepared. A nice Soup an OK salad of Jicama and orange. Could have been more interesting. Turkey and Pork Tacos on fresh Tortillas, really tasty , all ingredients were fresh and lovely. Dinner was really delicious! Portions were adequate and flavors were delicate. Service was great and the atmosphere was lovely. At $22 USD it was resort priced. Stiil Fair. After Dinner we took the the program on making Chocolate. $15USD. This was presented by a local Chocolate maker who did an excellent job of showing us how chocolate was made and we even got to do it our selves. The result was a rich chocolate drink the Mayans have enjoyed for thousands of years. This was a priceless insight to the process of chocolate making. We are very happy that our kitchen team was able to exceed your expectations. We are considered moderately priced as a resort. As a resort, we know we have an extra responsibility to assure food safety and something above just a tasty meal. The focus on farm-to-table, the organic gardens, advanced food safety training for our food and beverage manager, and even the garden tours all add up to a lot of value for a little more than what you can pay in a regular restaurant in town. Our guests often tell us that this is why they chose to stay at the Maya Mountain Lodge.

I will consider one of those lifetime memorable meals that come along about two every decade. Firstly, the restaurant is charming, and the menu offers a broad selection that will appeal to every taste. I had the pork chop with chimichurri, delicate vegetables, and coconut rice. Served with a carménère, it was a wonderful combo of flavors and textures. The Bailey's cheesecake was beautiful and not too sweet. Family that runs the place does a fantastic job, and their young son is a remarkably knowledgeable dinosaur enthusiast.

This is an upscale place made for dates or adult parties. There are 2 levels and a small bar and separate patio area. Live music flowed the night I arrived unannounced. Busy season may require reservations. The price is nearly that of an upscale California restaurant, so keep that in mind. I ordered a nightly special of pork kabobs, a lobster stew, 2 glasses of wine and a desert for about $100 BZD or $50 USD. Well worth it, enjoyed the service and the food.
