Reviews on International food in Salzburg, Austrian Alps, Austria. It’s been 200 years or so since he lived here, but Mozart is still very much Salzburg’s favorite son. Visit the composer’s residence and birthplace, then explore the Altstadt (Old City), taking in the baroque architecture. If your musical tastes run more "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens" than "Requiem in D Minor," catch one of the many Sound of Music tours and follow in the footsteps of the Von Trapps.

Directly accessible from the Herbert-von-Karajan-Square and the Festival Hall or via the main hotel entrance in the Getreidegasse in Salzburg's Old Town, Restaurant Goldener Hirsch is a landmark of Salzburg: What was once a blacksmith's shop is nowadays S
This was a restaurant my wife insisted we visit. She had heard wonderful stories about it from her father; they were all true. The dining room is unassuming. The service a bit formal, but prompt and very attentive. The food was wonderful, in fact we had two meals there during our three days in Salzburg. If you're looking for a wonderful, authentic, relaxing, pseudo-formal Austrian meal in Salzburg, call for a reservation and enjoy.

I visited for dinner. It seems that local people love this place. Terrace was all booked so I sat inside, which was not a problem for me. I had a shrimp with caramelized watermelon(unique!) and rib eye steak. All were cooked well and I throughly enjoyed. Staff turned out to be very friendly and nice in the end and it is a pity that I could only come here once. It was a very cosy and nice dinner.

Traditional + modern, but always authentic. The restaurant and daybar âK+K am Waagplatzâ stands for enjoyment, unforgettable hours and informal comfort in unique surroundings with a varied range of distinctive private dining rooms in a historic building f
Situated near the Mozart statue, part of Rotary this place has indoor and exterior seating. The day we went was cold and wet so we sat inside. The interior is rather gloomy. They have daily specials on the board outside, but cleverly do not make you aware of them inside when giving you the normal menu. The staff seat you quickly, but serving to order was incredibly slow. The staff were more interested in chatting with each other and arguing in front of guests, including the owner/manager. Unprofessional. My friend got the daily special of paprika chicken and for E10 was happy with the serving size and the meal. I ordered from the normal menu - Wiener schnitzel with potatoes and cranberry sauce. The schnitzel was huge and there were only a few potatoes. The cranberry sauce tasted awful and was warm - ew. I asked for it cold and sadly it tasted the same. It tasted off. For E21 it was average in taste compared to others I had eaten, more batter than meat and a dry. I also ordered a bitter lemon drink [x2] and was charged E7 which was reasonable compared to other places. We then waited for ages to pay the bill. Staffing need work and the quality of food too.Dear Swelltraveller67!We are very sorry that your visit was not to your satisfaction. We have already trained our service team and thank you for the open feedback! With best regardsKoller + Koller Team

This is located not too far from the Mirabellegarten. Which is just across the river from Mozart's birthplace. We had a very nice leisurely lunch there. Excellent food with a light and modern touch. Atmosphere is similar - modern. See seperate review of Schloss M but when you see locals eat at a place you know you are in the right spot. Not a "walkable" option in Salzburg but take a taxi to a top shelf location.Chef has been there 13+ years which is another good sign. Not for budget folks ( go to Augustiner just at bottom of the hill for that ) but incredible. Josef will leave you smiling....hopefully the woman chef is on duty making ravioli of any kind but the polenta ravioli were outstanding. Also, Austrian wines run and don't let inexpensive price fool you. They are top quality and highly recommended. Dear guest, thank you very much that you took the time to write such a beautiful review about our new Restaurant "The Glass Garden". Your positive feedback is a great motivation and reward for us, we passed your praise to our kitchen and service team and they were happy that you enjoyed a wonderful time in our restaurant. We are already looking forward to welcome you soon again in our castle hotel high above Salzburg!Kind regards,Samantha Teufel

On our 1st night in Salzburg we decided to be guided by TripAdvisor reviews and chose Meet2Eat, the reviews are true it's fantastic!Located near the airport on the main road to Innsbruck , surrounded by car dealerships, it's about 3km out of central Salzburg. We chose to arrive by public bus the number 180 from the central station HBF and returned on the N2 trolley bus, journey time about 20 mins cost â¬2.40. Use the Karolingerstr stop. We had reserved online and we were greeted by then very friendly staff when we arrived at 1830. We chose to sit out outside in a covered area. There is a comprehensive menu, my wife chose a duck with Cumberland sauce starter and I chose a smoked fish with avocado. Superb - genius portion , lovely salad and dressing accompaniment. This was followed by both of us choosing get the tenderloin / fillet steak with a pepper sauce again a generous portion with garden vegetables and noisette potatoes. The best steak we have had in many years, cooked to perfection. Dessert was a very comprehensive selection of local cheese and a creme brûlée with orange sorbet and fruits. The restaurant also has a very friendly and most helpful sommelier who recommended an excellent local wine to compliment the meal. All staff were extremely friendly , helpful and efficient, and spoke excellent English as my German is lacking . The meal with pre dinner drinks was â¬150 , good value for the quality and overall experience. We plan to return during our stay .
